Lifehouse Spa And Hotel

Just back from another overnight stay for a treat. Had a lovely time! We arrived at 1130 thinking we could make the most of the facilities and then get in our room at 3, but our room was ready so we were allowed straight in! We had a garden room and it was great. French door with a spectacular view was amazing. The bed was super comfortable. Shower was great. The body wash smelt delicious. My only issue with the room was that the toilet seemed to be running all the time which bothered me at night time. I didn't want to call someone up as I only noticed when going to sleep. I feel that if I had then it would have been sorted straight away though! On the day we arrived, the spa was absolutely rammed. Nowhere to sit by the pool as all beds were taken by towels. We only spent about 30 mins in there the first day because of this. If we didn't have our room this would have really bothered us. We had dinner included and it was great. Everything was cooked really well and Millie, our waitress, was very sweet and attentive. Breakfast was nice, usual breakfast items. I did ask for porridge - it was made in about 10 mins but it was delicious. The second day at the spa was much better. Plenty of sun loungers and we could use all the facilities. I thought maybe the day after a bank holiday could have been the issue the previous day. Who knows! I had a treatment and it was so relaxing. All in all, it was a great stay and we will be back again.

I've stayed at the Lifehouse several times since it opened some years ago and booked to take my daughter as a treat for her birthday. We were so disappointed. It used to feel really exclusive, a complete indulgence. The treatments were wonderful....this time we couldn't even book a single one. The pool area was rammed! 12 people in the jacuzzi, which was a complete no no - grim! The Salt spa and Steam rooms were so busy we couldn't even go in! There was no room around the pool to even sit together so we went to the Quiet room, most people were chatting and on phones. I completely understand the economic situation is tough at the moment so places have to expand their offering but this felt like going to a smart (and expensive) Butlins - nothing wrong with Butlins, but if I book there at least I know what I'm getting! On a positive note - the staff are all delightful, really friendly and helpful and the restaurant food is lovely. We were offered a complimentary day by the Manager but I wouldn't go again and if I'd read a review before going this time, I wouldn't have booked it.

This is so far, the best spa I've been to in the UK. It's a on the higher end of pricing, but it's very well worth it. No kids, no dogs, no noise, great food, drinks and attentive staff. Unforgettable experience

Sometimes the warm pool jets are not working, the cold bath is out of service and it might get crowded, as to make finding a spot in the warm pool or a lounger becomes a challenge

We like the hotel.

Spacious clean room beautiful view fabulous shower. The whole experience was wonderful. The location is so peaceful with lovely walks in the countryside and woods. The hotel and spa is very relaxing. Such friendly staff. Delicious food. A true slice of heaven. We will definitely be back.
