DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Goa - Arpora - Baga

Excellent hotel. Great location great staff especially Ragini Mishra and Rahul Thakur were very helpful. Had a pleasant surprise as was chosen as star guest of the day. Lovely hotel and staff will definitely revisit

The room was excellent. Staff were lovely and very professional. The overall hotel was well maintained and very clean. Pool side was nice and the pool area itself was very clean and well kept.

The breakfast was a little disorganised. Starting time was always late. We found an absence of management staff at the breakfast to guide the staff. The food standard could have been better. WE have stayed in Hilten double tree in other countries where the food has been of a much higher quality. The absence of Goan cuisine was a big disappointment. The games area was very undermined. The pool table was only opened upto 10pm. That is crazy. Most hotels pool tables are opened all night or upto midnight atleast.

The room was excellent and the staff were lovely. Hotel was very clean. Good laundry service. Pool area was nice and well maintained. Checkin was good and checkout was convenient.

We have 2 areas of concern which we reported to the hotel on our last day. One, the breakfast service was not well managed. We were at the hotel for 7 days. Every morning breakfast started late. No staff were present most of the time and management was never around. The Coffee was shockingly bad. In a country where Filter coffee is so popular, this is not acceptable. Two the games area. Only pool and caroms and both closed at 10pm. This was quite frustrating especially for the young ones.

I booked a room via Booking.com and had to cancel within two hours of making the reservation because my husband became unwell and could not be moved. Booking.com contacted the hotel on my behalf to request a refund, but Hilton refused. What I find particularly disappointing is that had this booking been made by phone, the hotel would not have been able to charge or hold the full amount in this way. Charging the full fee for a stay that was cancelled almost immediately, with no services rendered, feels unreasonable and unfair. I understand cancellation policies, but some discretion and basic compassion would have gone a long way in this situation. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that the handling of the matter lacked flexibility and customer care. I would think carefully before booking under similar circumstances again.
