"A booking nightmare"

4.0

After we arrived at the hotel the first night the man behind the counter could not find our Expedia reservation that I had had for two days. We had to hassle and haggle just to keep the price that we got from Expedia. The second time we stay there we had to wake him up from sleeping behind the desk to again him not having our reservation. I am again we have to hassle and haggle our price that we got through Expedia. After settling on a price he called my wife A day later and stated that we needed to pay more and that his boss was taking money from him because he didn't charge us enough. What kind of hotel is this? Just felt harassed the entire time and our room wasn't even clean when we got there. the only thing I can say that is nice is the bed was comfortable.

"Not bad for the price"

10.0

I stayed there 9 days. Normal cheap but clean hotels there average 100 soles. This hotel is about 165 soles. So $15-20 higher, but has a large pool, large rooms, bigger tv's. Worth the little extra. Wifi on inner rooms are great. River side rooms are hit and miss wifi. My Air conditioner blew cold but not hard enough to cool the bigger room. They gave me a fan on request. Worked out fine. Food is a little expensive but seemed to have very large portions. Pay cash never put it on your room bill!!!! They add 10 to 25% depending on room service. And at check out they tried to double charge the service fee. And added charges to my room. This is not isolated it happens at most of the hotels. Confront them they will remove charges when caught. Located about 5 blocks from the main plaza. 2 blocks from a mini market and a block from scenic river walk. Iooking forward to staying there my next trip.

"Not worth the price"

2.0

This is not worth the price. The bathrooms were gross. The towels and toiletries suggest a motel. We had two rooms, one in the 2nd floor and the other on the 6th floor. The a/c turned on in both but never got cool enough. Good: The pool was nice and staff was friendly.

"Budget stay with caution"

6.0

They try hard. Wifi was on and off. Frequent power outages. There was a storm, my room was ok but friend next door had a big leak and room was soaked. Staff did what they could. Don't expect too much.

"OK"

6.0

The hotel is alright for Iquitos. the room was ok, with air conditioning, hot water, TV, and the towels and sheets were clean. The hotel has a pool with bar, which was excellent, and the restaurant was nice and the food was really good. The price is fair and is well located. The staff is very friendly but not so helpful: Mi phone fell into water so I asked for some rice from the kitchen. After an hour, I called again and told me they didn't had rice (which is impossible, since in Peru almost every dish comes with rice), but they offered me to go and buy some from the store. Two hours later, I called once more, and told me they couldn't get out because of bad wheather (it was raining). So, I put my jacket on, and went myself to the store, wich was fine, I only would have preferred to be told from the beginning that they couldn't help me, rather than keep me waiting. Apart from that, everything else was OK.

"The best place to stay in Iquitos "

10.0

Very nice place, everyone was so kind and helpful. A van from se hotel picks you up from the airport. The rooms had air conditions and beds were really comfortable. The restaurant had many dishes to choose from. And also there's the chance to book a day trip with a guide from the hotel. Really nice !

"Definitely not a 4 star hotel"

4.0

This is far from a 4 star hotel - on a good day when the hot water is working it would be a stretch to give it 3 stars. Simple things like the bedside lamps have been ripped off the wall, so you have to find your bed in the dark or use your phone as a light...At night they turn off the the lights in the corridors of the hotel and even in the reception, so good luck to you if you want to move around at night...Extremely over-priced for what is on offer, though in saying that this is most likely one of the better options in Iquitos (this city is a bit of a dive but there are some cool activities to do nearby so still worth taking a visit). The included breakfast is a joke - don't expect to be impressed....The pool area with bar is nice, though I would say for the travellers wanting an early night this may not be the place for you....the music at the pool area is played loudly until 11pm....

"Mixed impressions - you can get more for what you are paying”"

4.0

Minuses Clealiness is poor. Humid joints with mold and mildew. Bad ventilation in the rooms. Sticky floors. They allow people coming to eat at their restaurant to use the pool, maintainance wasn't matching the pressure from additional people, making the pool seems with dirty water. Loud music until 11pm in the pool. If you are in front of the pool area, you will not be able to have a nap or a calm moment at your room. Not an hotel to take your wife and children (some street ladies were visiting the hotel) Pluses Staff is very kind (need to mention in Iquitos the people is very kind). Breakfast is OK Room 513 (during our return) is very good (in contrast to room 102 we were given in our first day at the hotel) The opportunity to take some interesting pictures from spiders, moths in the garden and Belen area from room 513

"Jungle Lodge & Camping Experience"

10.0

We stayed at Pacaya Samiria Lodge for 5 nights including camping in the jungle for 2 nights. Service was excellent. All meals were excellent. Our guide Rey, was knowledgeable, courteous, attentive and always looking to accommodate our needs. Just as helpful and lovely to deal with was Maria Helena, the Lodge's administrator. We had many great talks with both of them and what was particularly pleasing was to learn just how many people from local villages are employed at Pacaya Samiria from the guide to the cooks, boat driver, waiters etc etc. Recommend a visit to anyone. A big thank you to Maria Helena and Rey for the special attention we enjoyed on what was our 30th wedding anniversary.

"Ok"

Service is good, and the pool is great. However, the hotel and rooms are clearly beyond their glory days, and the price is much higher then elsewhere in Peru. (Laundry prices are crazy). The airco in the room was great though.
