Il Porticciolo di Amalfi

Beautiful, quiet and well taken care of property. Felt extremely welcome and taken care of. Breakfast provided kept us full, nice selection and variety. Easy access to the town square with lots of restaurants and shops and quick walk to the beach.

Very clean room with large double bed and comfortable sofa, although the mattress was too firm for us. We were pleased to find extra pillows in the cupboard. The shower was excellent. Shampoo and shower gel were supplied the first night only, but replaced on request. The hairdryer wasn't very good so I was pleased I had taken my own. A substantial breakfast was served on the terrace, but we found it slightly repetitive after 5 days. Very friendly service.

The view was incredible. There were a lot of stairs, but we were prepared for that and it was worth it. Mena was very accommodating, even making us an early breakfast the day we left.

My husband and I stayed in one of the sea view rooms for 5 nights. The views were amazing. The room and bathroom were big compared to European standard. Very comfortable beds and tea maker at room. The breakfast prepared by Mena was served on terrace. The spread included, croissants, jam, bread, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, ham/cheese with tomatoes, orange juice and cappuccino or expresso. The terrace is accessible all day long. This property probably has the least amount of steps to carry your luggages up the hill compared to other B&Bs in Amalfi. I'd definitely recommend this B&B for people who do not have mobility issues.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in May 2019 and just loved this B&B. We found it easy to find as our driver dropped us off near the bottom of the steps opposite the Grand Hotel (just on the Amalfi side of the tunnel). This is by far easier the easier side to get to the B&B from (not as many steps) but I still wouldn’t want to try and get a couple of 4 wheeled suitcases up there! Coming from the ferry terminal would be a challenge with big cases, but a fairly easy walk up some steps without any luggage. The B&B is in a great location a bit higher than town, but is a very quick walk down to the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Our room (Sirrocco?) was large and comfortable with an incredible view out over the water (as I’m sure they all are). The bathroom was modern and a good size with a great shower. Wifi was also good in the room. The real showpiece though was the amazing rooftop terrace overlooking the water – the views were out of this world! It was such a great place to relax after a busy day with a bottle of wine and to just soak up the view. It would also be a great place to have breakfast served, but unfortunately for us the weather wasn’t the best while we were there, so we were served breakfast in our room. The breakfasts were just beautiful, and freshly made by Mena, our lovely and hard-working host! The jams were just beautiful, the croissants warm and fresh, and the coffee just perfect. Mena was such a lovely host, and always (somehow) had time for a chat! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Rooms were alright, we had two twins pushed together which was fine. The breakfast in the morning is incredible, they went over the top to make it wonderful and you have beautiful views while you eat.

Our room was roomy and clean with a beautiful view! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty served on a patio overlooking Amalfi town and coast! Be prepared for a lot steps up to the B&B. But that is the only downside which is kind of hard to avoid on the area. Well worth it for a fine stay and an informative helpful hostess’

We had a great stay here at Il Porticciolo. Mena the hostess provides a very warm, hospitable environment. She also cooks great scrambled eggs at breakfast, to go along with the great croissants, and toast with homemade fig jam. The views from our room and the rooftop breakfast/dining area are magnificent and as another reviewer stated, worth the steps up from the town. (Note that if you use Mena's "Amalfi Coast Transfers" limo service to get to Amalfi, they drop you off at a higher elevation just a km or so out of town. Hi highly recommend this beautiful place and as I said, Mena is a great hostess. If you bring back some takeaway food or beverages, she will let you use the refrigerator upstairs by the dining deck. (I did this a couple of times with a some salads, and enjoyed my evening meal looking out over the Amalfi harbor.) Great place!

We were so happy with our stay at Il Porticiollo! Yes it's a little difficult to find for the first time, and yes, there are steps to climb, but so worth it! We were greeted warmly by Patrizia and check-in was quick and friendly. Our room was charming and the bathroom was very nice (I loved the blue!) The terrace is even more breathtaking in person. Such a fabulous place to relax - it's hard not to wish we could live there forever! The beds were not as comfortable as I like, but I'm picky about beds and pillows. The breakfast was fabulous; a perfect location and atmosphere and bountiful, yummy food! Mena was our cook and server and she was so friendly and energetic! We were treated to croissants, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, cheese, homemade sweet bread, yogurt, coffee, tea and the yummiest juice! Mena happily poured us seconds on juice and even gave my daughter a piece of chocolate cake! She made us feel like family. If we're ever blessed with the opportunity to come back to Amalfi we will definitly stay here again. I highly recommend!
