Il Porticciolo di Amalfi

Firstly I will say many hotels along the Amalfi Coast have stairs you must climb to reach them from the water, so it is standard for the area. And the views from our room and the rooftop terrace made it so worth it (it was maybe 100-125 stairs from the water). We stayed here for 4 nights in July 2018 and we couldn't be happier with our choice! The room was a decent size, comfortable, and clean, as was the bathroom. The AC temp. was controlled by us (which was nice during the heat this July). The best part of the rooms was the view of the water! If you are staying on the coast, you want to see the coast! The staff were friendly and helpful and the check-in/out process was quick and easy. The best part of the hotel was the rooftop terrace. This is where their amazing breakfast was served (huge select and the best juice ever!). We also had use of the terrace anytime we wanted (there was no fridge in the room, but one upstairs by the terrace where we would keep some wine to enjoy each night on the terrace). We will definitely stay here again, we loved the coast and this great hotel was a big part of our amazing time in Amalfi!

This was our first visit to Italy, and I would highly recommend staying Il Porticciolo de Alfmalfi! The ocean view from the rooms and terrace are beautiful! The rooms are well appointed and the host, Carmella, is absolutely wonderful. She immediately responded to my questions and helped us to secure a great Driver to take us from Naples to Amalfi and to Il Porticciolo. Carmella was up early to prepare a wonderful breakfast that was served on the terrace-home made croissants, breads, fresh local fruit, preserves, yogurt, juice and wonderful coffee! There is a walkway from Il Porticciolo directly to the town square market place so you do not have to walk along the busy street side. I would definitely return to the Il Porticciolo, again!

Highly recommend! It was a bit difficult to find at first and we certainly got our work out taking the stairs after dinner/ventures into town but was well worth it! We spent a great deal of Time on the rooftop terrace which views and unreal! Drinks before or after dinner and breakfast in the morning. It is a great offer of this place! Breakfast was included and quite lovely as well

We started our Amalfi hiking expedition with a three night stay at Il Porticciolo. (Subsequent location showed us how good this B&B is.) Staff is very cheerful and friendly. Complimentary breakfast was filling and the morning view spectacular. We will stay here again. Be aware though, there are a fair number of steps whether you are coming or going. If you have more than a carry-on, you will want to use a porter to get you luggage from the pier to the hotel.

My partner and I stayed at this BnB for 1 night during our brief trip to the Amalfi coast. The location is very central, a 5- 10min walk from the ferry terminal and central Amalfi. We had the downstairs bedroom and you literally walk out to a brilliant view. The room was very clean and had all the required amenities. There was also a kitchenette for cooking. The hostess was very nice, she prepared breakfast earlier for us so we could make the ferry the following morning and also provided us with free luggage storage on our 2nd day. The best part of our stay was the roof top terrace, it is beautifully decorated with pot plants and has a breathtaking view. We liked it so much that we chose to cook our meal so we could have it up there on our stay. If you stay here, i highly recommend doing this - perhaps with a glass of nice Italian wine/ some lemoncello.

This was a gem of a bed and breakfast. Amazing views with a great staff and wonderful breakfast. I wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms were clean and we had rooftop access all night to watch the boats go by.

We stayed here for two nights during a week village-hopping along Amalfi Coast. My husband found Il Porticiollo through booking.com. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay in Amalfi with a beautiful view, this delivers. We stayed in early October to avoid the crowds and enjoy the budget prices. Here are a few tips on location, rooms and amenities to help with your decision. 1. Like most places to stay in Amalfi with a sea view, there are stairs. Lots of stairs. The easiest route from the marina is to walk along the pier north past two waterfront restaurants. There is an alley way that leads to outdoor stairs. A big flight of stairs. Once you climb that with your bags, you cross the main road and find another big flight of stairs. Probably the equivalent of five flights of stairs in a U.S. hotel. Take the marina route with the stairs. It's much shorter and straightforward. The alternate route winds through downtown (from the main piazza with the duomo, turn left at Da Gemma restaurant, go through the small piazza with L'abside restaurant and keep climbing and climbing through the sentieri--paths of stairs). 2. Even in October, we got sweaty walking to the hotel, with or without bags. Uphill all the way, baby. Embrace the three-times-a-day shower. 3. It has an unobstructed view of the harbor and sea, closer to the end where the smaller boats anchor. 4. Office is on the first floor, then another flight of stairs before reaching the rooms. 5. Liebbico room has a window with a beautiful sea view. 6. Rooms are basic and clean. No room for end tables in ours. Just a bed, armoire and small table with two chairs. No safe, no refrigerator. Happy with the room and view for our price. Bed was a little too stiff and pillows a bit too flat. 7. Rain shower head and second body shower head. Great pressure and hot! Best shower of my entire Italy trip. 8. The rooftop terrace where breakfast is served has gorgeous views. It's almost like an infinity pool without the pool looking over the little terrace wall from your breakfast table. If you are scared of heights, this isn't the place for you! 9. Warm croissants with powdered sugar for breakfast. Homemade marmalade, yogurt, bread, granola -- the food just keeps coming. My only wish is that she served cappuccino. 10. Buy a bottle of wine from a shop in town, and the owner will let you chill it in the rooftop kitchen refrigerator. This rooftop was always empty, and it was a great place to relax and enjoy a peaceful happy hour, watching the boats go by.

We stayed for four nights. Beautiful hosts great location. Stairs keep you fit, but they worked off all the food. Restaurant's close by at the bottom of stairs . Huge breakfast, you can use the rooftop any time of day or night. Enjoy the sunset with a bottle of red wine. Recommended by us!

The property manager, Carmela, was great in her communication prior to our arrival and during our stay. Her recommendations were spot on!! The location of II Porticciolo was even better than we thought. Quick walk to the plaza centers but far enough away to be quiet. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea could not be a better way to start your day or finish it on the terrace with your wine. We can't wait to go back!!

We stayed 2 nights coming from Roma in Nov. 2015. The apartemnt was great and the view and scenery outside exelent. A small drawback is the close to 200 stairs to climb, but once done the view will blow you away. The staff had to be contacted by phone in oreder to check in, since the lobby is staffed only soem times during day. Breakfast and terrace fro meals was just great. The tasff was friendly and helpful. Please note bad cellphone coverage just outside room, so call / mail in advance.
