The Terrace Hotel

THE BED WAS A TINY DOUBLE. PICTURES ADVERTISED 4POST KING THE ROOM HAD A TEMPORARY HIRE AIRCON IN IT THAT WAS EXTREMELY LOUD AND SMELT TERRIBLE NO WINDOW COULD BE OPENED . CABELS AND WIRING WHERE VISIBLE ON FLORING AND IN CABBINETS

Super comfy beds, lovely historic building, a great location to attend an event at RAC Arena as it's less than a 10 min walk. Cleanliness was impressive in the rooms (however, not at breakfast)

Check in - no one mans the desk anymore, the Reception entrance has no sign to tell you to go through the other entrance and check in in the bar. You are left pushing the button and waiting to enter to no avail. The hotel is lovely, however now dated since the renovation and the room needs some attention. Parking at the Convention Centre (their suggestion) for not a long stay (late afternoon check in and early check out) was close to $60 and is a walk with luggage. The 10 min bay close by is also paid parking and limited to 2 bays if available. (we don't mind paying for parking but would rather pay this for valet parking at many competitor hotels). Breakfast staff didn't clean or clear tables and little engagement, quite a wait for a limited breakfast. Sadly food was cold on cold plates.

The bathroom was great. I liked the old feel of the place. The location for getting about was great. The bed was great!!

I have stayed here previously before its closure and was keen to see how it was when re-opened. Unfortunately it was not as great an experience as previous visits. The air con was broken and had been for some time by the looks. The temorary replacement was located so that the air blew across the bed and was very noisy. If you turned it off, the room was hot and stuffy. Either way it made it difficult to sleep. Overall, I think the hotel owners need to spend a little money on maintenance which assists their staff.

We liked everything. The food coffee and staff were excellent. Location was excellent and parking for cars very central

Nothing we thoroughly enjoyed our stay .and will use the hotel again.
