InterContinental Marseille - Hotel Dieu by IHG

The actual property is great, the lobby and staff are awesome. Breathtaking view. But our room smelled and it was a bit hot.

The property was supposedly a five star hotel, however, I was very disappointed in the room. We arrived in our room to find 2 pastries on the side table that were covered in ants. There were hundreds of small ants. Also, there were hairs in the bathroom and it wasn’t clean. The room was small and did not have high end finishes. We were assigned to another room on a lower floor. I was expecting at least a small upgrade for the inconvenience, but we were given a similar room on a lower floor. Do not expect a five star experience at this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel, well located near the old port. Definitely felt like a 5-star stay and our son loved the pool. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. It was busy when we arrived and we waiting quite a while for check-in. Also, we were exploring the area on foot and this hotel is very much set up for car access primarily. You can't enter from the back (need to walk all the way around) and on foot to return to the hotel you need to climb a large-ish set of stairs. There was also an onsite dance party one of our nights, and we could hear loud music in our room up to 11pm. Very clean, great lobby, lots of room comfort options. We had a drink in one of the lounges faces the port and that space was lovely.
