Hog Hollow Country Lodge

only complaint is that the wine list was uninspired - otherwise everything first class

Super selection for breakfast with a “Hog hollow twist” well presented with the option of sitting out on the deck with a great view of forest and distant mountains. All served but excellent staff.

Icing on the cake would be WiFi in the room.

Excellent position with outstanding forest views. Very friendly and attentive staff. Rooms were excellent.. Service levels extremely high. Breakfasts were superb and so were the dinners! Highly recommended. We very much enjoyed our stay!

It is a beautiful property and well thought through. The only problem is that the infrastructure seems to break down a lot and the staff don’t seem to handle it well. On our second day we had no electricity for the afternoon. When they tried to fix it we were left with no water. Then they managed to get cold water. Next they arranged for us to shower in another unit. They had to be reminded to bring us a key for that room. That evening when the turn down staff came they took the key. We did not notice until the morning when we needed to have a shower. We must have gone to the front desk 6 times to deal with the issue. We had a plane to catch the next morning so this just added to the stress. They offered us a bottle of wine as compensation but we were getting on a plane so it was no use to us. The food was generally good but for some reason the salads we ordered on the second night were not edible.

We had such a great experience here... the staff is amazing so welcoming and friendly we went with our 2 young children and they were so great with them.. would recommend this place to anyone with children. Also if you go you must do the champagne tour with mark he’s fantastic!
