"Nice gasthaus"

8.0

We stayed here on our way to and from Italy. It's a very nice and welcoming place, great (70 styles) room and a clean nice shower and good bed. We also had a nice dinner and breakfast. Overall a good value for money, (We paid about 100 Euro per night for two adults and 1 kid including dinner and breakfast)

"We would love to move here"

10.0

After staying here 1 night, we cancelled the other bookings in Germany to stay here. It's quiet (except for the bubbling brook outside the window), it's really easy to get to, and the owner and his wife were so accommodating. The water sound outside our room was soothing and we both slept like babies after touring French castles and the Black Forest.

"Are you a sensitive sleeper?"

6.0

Are you a sensitive sleeper? If yes, than this place probably is not for you. Most of rooms in this guesthouse face a stream with a strong and noisy current. Moreover, there is a waterfall just in 1 meter from a window. Yes, it's a small one, but it produces quite a lot of noise. Of course, you can close the window but it would not help that much. So please be aware if you are a sensitive sleeper. Otherwise, it's a cozy and nice guesthouse. The owner is able to create comfortable atmosphere. The fact that he does not speak any English is not a problem at all. We liked breakfast as well. I give three points.

"Stop on the way from England to Croatia"

10.0

This guest house is set in the beautiful chocolate box town Lauf. Unfortunately we didn't speak German and the family running the guest house didn't speak very much English but we got by. The family were very welcoming. Our room overlooked the fast flowing river that the guest house is built right next to. The river provided a beautiful balcony view and because we were there in July and then again two weeks later in August the weather was hot so the river cooled the air a little. The room felt quite hot at night and we left the balcony door open with the sound of the river to fall asleep to. The rooms were old fashioned in decoration but very clean and comfortable. Dinner was lovely - there was a wide selection to choose from and they gave us menus in English which was great. Nothing was too much trouble and they took time help us choose and try to explain certain dishes. A few of us had steak and it was cooked to perfection on all counts. Breakfast was great too - a wide selection of cold meats, cereal, yoghurts and fruit with as much tea, coffee and juice as we could drink. They also offered herbal teas which was great. We all loved this guest house and would definitely stay here again.

"You will be well taken care of at the Linde"

10.0

The onwer spoke very little English and we spoke less German, but this did not get in the way of the service. The room was large, clean, comfortable, and had a great balcony overlooking a river. The restaurant provided an excellent traditional German breakfast and the dinner menu provided numerous choices. Our dinner meals were very good. We enjoyed the local wines served with dinner. A bakery and a food market are both within walking distance. Had to use GPS to find. Will use the Linde on our next Germany adventure.

"I would stay here again in a flash!"

10.0

I have nothing but praise for this place. We arrived extremely late after a long day of travelling, but the hosts were very welcoming and we were quickly settled with a beer in our hand and some food in our stomach. I would rate this as more of a large bed and breakfast than a hotel. We stayed in the back house on the second level. The room was very cosy (though despite requesting a double bed it was two single mattresses pushed together - something we found very common in Europe). The bathroom was very basic, but sufficient. We ate at the hotel every night, and enjoyed the company of the locals. The food was fantastic, the beer, amazing. It wasn't located to any real tourist attractions, but it was a great base for exploring the country, being within driving distance of the Black Forest and the beautiful town of Triberg. A real family run accommodation, we enjoyed every moment here, due to the wonderful atmosphere provided and the beautiful country we were staying in. We were there in winter, which was just amazing. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

"Great spot for visiting tbe Black Forest."

6.0

I arrived on Thursday and it appeared to be shut. I knew the restaurentsould be closed unexpected to see more life than there was. No food available in the village so if arriving on a Thursday eat beforehand! Hotel was very clean and rooms and breakfast were fine.
