Red Caboose Motel & Restaurant

We loved the Caboose Motel. My Grandkids were over the moon. It was great having animals at the location. The kids loved feeding them.

We weren't happy with the food in the restaurant.

Best diner breakfast my husband said he has ever had! He's very picky with diners so this is a huge compliment!

Was not aware our train car would be halved with another train car but it was still nice! Just not an entire car to ourselves

The entire concept of the motel and facility was absolutely beautiful and genius. Utilizing cabooses as hotel rooms is something that I applaud completely. The other amenities, such as the dining cars, petting zoo, Railroad going past the facility, and isolated area were wonderful additions to the theme of the Motel. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful if they tried. In this respect, I couldn't recommend it any more highly for a family vacation destination, or somebody who has just always wanted to sleep in an actual caboose.That was something that I wanted to do since I was a small child, and I can actually take it off of my bucket list.

Cabooses have been off the rails, literally, for many years now. They are something that the world will probably never see again at the end of a train. Although it's a wonderful thing that the Red Caboose rescued a number of these pieces of History, they really do need to work on the maintenance and upkeep of them. Sadly, the only ones that looked as if they had gotten a Fresh restoration where the ones that faced the main road. I would suggest getting someone who would take great pride in restoring these vehicles to their former glory on the outside. There was so much rust that needed a wire brushing, or possibly patching, and the paint on most of the vehicles inside the compound gave the impression that we were staying on the set of a post-apocalyptic Trailer Park movie. The interior of the honeymoon suite was very well restored for the area that they had to work with. However, the mattress of the bed really did need a good flipping, if not replacement. The floor of the shower was extremely slick and slippery and does need something to maintain a grip for safety. Would not want somebody taking a slide and suing this facility into nonexistence.Any criticism I would give is meant to be constructive and Out of Love. I believe that this Motel is a true work of art, and just need some refinement to make it one of the most amazing vacation destinations on the East Coast.

Love the room, even with all the heat we had a great stay!

The rooms, or the cabooses, were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding grounds were wonderful to take evening walks or watch the Strasburg Railroad steam trains pass through. A small petting zoo, Amish buggy rides, and the Toy Train Museum are a very short walking distance from the cabooses. You park your car along side the caboose you are staying in. The Strasburg Railroad and Pennsylvania Train Museum are within a mile from the motel. Beautiful views of the Amish farms. The Casey Jones restaurant was a great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Highly recommend the Red Caboose Motel.

Great location.

Food in the dining car was great. Grandson loved the caboose.

Beds were not comfortable. Caboose was not level. Entrance way was rusted out and did not feel safe.

The staff was excellent and very helpful. Check in was a breeze. Location was great for Sight and Sound show. Will visit again.

staff were very friendly, rooms were clean. close to other attractions (less than 15 minutes) some of the food at restaurant (shoo-fly pie is awesome) French toast, bacon, meatloaf,

some of the food at restaurant, chicken parmesan was over cooked and way to much cheese, home fries were made in deep fryer,
