Scuba Lodge & Ocean Suites

Personnel (all of them!) are lovely; when we arrived, we were toured around the hotel facilities. There is always hotel staff available to answer your questions (are the pool towels for free? - Yes. Can we leave our suitcases behind a locked door in the hours before departure? - Yes. Why is Willemstad Center so busy on Thursday evenings? Etc.) Always smiling, always happy to help. The location is great; it's on Pietermaai, within walking distance of Willemstad city center, but also just far away from it to always find a nearby parking spot for your rental car. Except on Thursday evenings 😬 The hotel has 2 pools; one is an infinity pool with sun deck facing the ocean. That ocean can be entered through a small staircase and it's unbelievable what can be seen already snorkling around that access point. There are two showers close to the pool to wash off the salty water. Part of the sun deck is in the shade of a large tree for gradual tanning. Our room was equipped with airconditioning AND a ceiling fan. We haven't seen one mosquito in it. The bottom seafront part of the hotel is occupied by De Heeren at Sea restaurant, which is very convenient for having breakfast. 'Of course', the Scuba Lodge is close to Dive Center Pietermaai, which obviously offers everything for diving, you can even dive with them in front of the hotel.

The hotel couldn't really help it, but when we were there (Sep '25), the kitchen of De Heeren at Sea was under construction, which meant noise and reduced seating space in this restaurant. There were also building noises from other locations, as many hotels along Pietermaai are either being built or renovated. We like to go to restaurants ad hoc, but De Heeren @ Sea is a popular place, so for dining you need to make reservations (way) in advance. Having breakfast there was never a problem. The hotel does offer a convenience room for leaving your suitcases, but it's rather small. Also, there is a shower, but that was closed permanently when we wanted to use it, and for changing clothes there was only a toilet.

Hotel is nice and friendly

The location is perfect, with beach access, a nice area for photographs and alot more. The inhouse restaurant is wonderful with a very friendly staff. Our only issue was the roadside parking as there area other hotels and restaurants around using the same roadway for parking, once you returning late set your mind to get a far park. Otherwise the place was excellent, would definitely revisit!

Great stay! Everyone was very accommodating. Would stay there again.

I spent 5 days in beautiful Curaçao. Staying at scuba lodge was an amazing experience. It is in a great location. The service provided by Zuleika and Viqui was exceptional. They were so kind and helpful. They helped me rent a car. On my birthday they surprised me with room decorations and a bottle of wine. Everything is clean and the food at the restaurant was delicious. I will be definitely coming back again!
