Despite being in the midst of a sudden crisis due to a serious injury to the chef and co-owner, Ruud and the rest of the team including his immediate family did a fantastic job to ensure that the hotel continued running smoothly and the guests were well looked after. Exemplary attitude. Fingers crossed that Ruud’s partner makes a very speedy recovery.

Our family visited Le Cro-Magnon on our first night in Les Eyzies, and we were so utterly blown away by the exceptional customer service and the quality of the food that we ended up returning for two more nights during our four-day stay! Because the menu changes weekly, we were lucky enough to experience two entirely different menus. Every single dish was cooked to perfection. The soups were incredible, and both the duck breast and the steak were divine. We managed to try everything on the menu across our visits, and honestly, it was a challenge to pick a favorite because everything was so consistently outstanding. If you are traveling through the region, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The Ruud and Jan make you feel incredibly welcome, and server the highest quality food. We already look forward to returning on our next trip!

This hotel is an absolute gem, charming in every way and run by the nicest two gentlemen who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and taken care of. The rooms are stylish, comfortable, quiet and clean with air conditioning if needed. Their breakfasts are legendary and they also offer amazing dinners on their outdoor terrace in the summer, lovingly prepared and always delicious. It's my favorite place to dine when I'm in the area. The pool and its atmosphere are super inviting on a warm day and the perfect retreat after adventuring. Located in the heart of the prehistoric Les Eyzies area, you are central to cave and historic sites along the Vezere river and can stroll right into town. I highly recommend staying at the Cro-Magnon!

A fantastic place to stay in the Dordogne. It’s a really nice hotel that offers dinner and breakfast. We had dinner there four times and the food was exceptional. The owners, Ruud and Jan, go out of their way to make sure their guests are happy. Nothing was too much of a trouble for them. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious, and excellent value. We highly recommend Le Cro-Magnon for a convenient and comfortable stay in Les Eyzies.

Accueil chaleureux, souriant, prévenant. Hôtel très bien rénové, avec beaucoup de charme. Un petit jardin (avec une jolie piscine) plein de douceur. Parking gratuit juste en face de l'hôtel bien appréciable. Nous y avons passé un séjour de 4 nuits extrêmement agréable.
