Wifala Thematic Hotel

A little far to walk to Plaza de Armas but do-able, the room was a pleasant surprise at the end of my travels with a very modern room and great rainfall shower head.

10 min walk to main plaza. Lots of food options nearby. real clean. i always had hot water

This hotel was very nice, the staff were awesome and super helpful, breakfast was great too! The only down side is the location, it's pretty far from the plaza for tourists...but the staff can get you super cheap cabs to wherever you want to go!

Pros: great price, very clean, great staff/service! Cons: A little bit out of the main tourist area, although still relatively safe. Taxi ride only 2-3 sol to main square.

We enjoyed our stay at the Wifala very much. The staff was so helpful and kind. They made us breakfast each morning, helped to get a taxi for our early morning flight and also told us reasonable taxi fare for our trips. It was pretty cold at night while we were in Cusco and they would bring us a hot water bottle each night. Cusco is a beautiful city and we were very happy with our cozy stay at the Wifala.

This rather small hotel in Cusco is reasonably priced and Monica the hotel owner/manager was helpful to arrange transportation from airport to the hotel so we don't have to worry looking for one. At first we were given two twin beds in a room, then we explain that we would like to have one queen bed and the staff (Gina) was very helpful and luckily one was available on the fourth floor. There is no elevator so we have to climb the stairs, which is rather hard to do with the thin air of Cusco 12,000 feet above sea level. The room with the view of the city was great but small with one table and one chair, small flat tv on the wall, small bathroom, and that's it. During the day we were okay, but every morning when we just woke up we always have slight headache to which we believe due to lack of oxygen. Light breakfast was served in the small cafeteria at ground floor, which is pretty good.

very pleasant small hotel...very pleasant and helpful staff...they will go out of their way to help you with any kind of arrangements you need (taxi, daytrip...)...very good homemade breakfast every morning

I had read the previous reviews and they are all true: the friendliness of the staff, the uniquely decorated rooms, the location of the hotel and safety of the surroundings and - yes - the cold rooms, greatly improved by the hot water bottles, blankets and electric heaters. And not to forget the baggage stored during our trip to Machu Picchu, neatly tagged with our names and waiting in our room upon our return. There is nothing to be added.

We had an excellent stay at the Wifala Hotel in Cusco. While it's located about a 15-20 minute walk from the main plaza, it was more than worth the walk. The staff were unbelievably accommodating and even made us breakfast a bit early one morning when we had to leave before the standard breakfast time. The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was more than just your typical toast and coffee- fruit smoothies, eggs, corn tamales or bread/cheese sandwiches, toast, coffee/tea. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our 3 nights in Cusco!

Very comfortable room, nice shower and good cable. Wi-Fi signal very good, staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful view of Cusco from rooms in the front.
