Sheraton Fuzhou Hotel

Stayed a few nights on business. Very comfortable, quiet rooms with a nice view onto the river. Good Chinese-style breakfast and main restaurant Very clean Staff cannot speak English and that could be an issue if you don't have an interpreter with you. Very slow service at the Chinese restaurant

Cerca de un starbuks, aunque esta cerca de Hongqiao no es la ubicación mas accesible. El hotel cuenta con un shuttle a la ciudad; pero no lo utilice. El acceder a taxis es fácil y regreso al hotel en taxi fue sin contratiempos. El hotel muy bien, solo un punto menos por la ubicación.

Stayed here a couple of times during September for a trade show. In terms of location it was perfect for where I had to work and the hotel itself is in a quiet area of the city. To get to the city is about 40mins by taxi and well worth a visit. The rooms are clean, well appointed and a good size. However, the decor in the rooms is somewhat dated - maybe more like China hotels of 10-15 years ago. Having said that, it’s pleasant enough and always good to have a comfortable bed. I gave the title to this review because in every hotel there is always room for improvement or something that makes you appreciate it more. In this particular case there was one individual who made the stay that more enjoyable and easier. Picture the scene: over 100 people for a trade show coming and going in the restaurants with high demands and needs to be fed and watered. This is on top of the rest of the hotel guests. There was one member of staff who was always attentive, hard working, fast to serve and with a warm smile. Not only did this person go beyond in their duty, they also were pushed to their limits with their English skills (which are good by the way). So, on that note if you stay here look out for Vita in the Feast restaurant. She was the person who lifted mine (and my colleagues) rating of the hotel from a 4 to a 5. Thank you Vita!!

Great hotel, nice room, breakfast, gym etc. Location could be a little better.

A great hotel as always from SPG. However, one of the check in staff couldn’t speak english so it was hard to communicate especially if you are a tourist who wanted to know places to go. Thankfully his colleague was able to help us. They have fitness centre as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Location is very far from the shop centre. Overall, a great hotel and service was nice.

Great rooms, decorated to the highest standard. The best bed linen ever! Great restaurant. The dinner buffet is filled with both European and Asian delights to awaken your taste buds. Staff are really helpful and polite ... wished I could have stayed longer!

My key reason for 3 stars was 1: location, about 30 mins away from the main city , 2: as a platinum member at SPG felt absolutely no special treatment at all 3: chinese restaurant service was expensive for the city and food average , and service was not good at all 4: rooms are a bit rundown and not kept well , 5: executive lounge had a nice view of the river but also cold and soulless in my opinion , the overall design of the hotel is nice but room need to be better kept , also more international channels for the TV would be good

Fuzhou in Fujian province is a services hub city (no heavy industry). Chinese tourists are attracted to seaside areas in this province but as yet city tourism is limited for the 'foreign' English-speaking visitor. The Sheraton is on the edge of the city in the conference/ exhibition centre area. It is not close to any attractions, but is in a space that permits a sense of relaxation in this big busy city. Tourism is emerging here. There are no city tour brochures or tour information in the hotel or anywhere else - you need to organise private tours beforehand or do it yourself - staff at reception kindly gave me a map of the city (in Chinese) - together with my own internet information this provided highlights to visit that could be easily reached by taxi ride between 30-60 minutes (pending traffic). The doorman wrote in Chinese the destination and took the registration number of the taxi - they are not expensive - suggest you organise a pick up point and time for the return journey because it is to get a taxi ride back. Highlights are the 'five lanes and seven alleys' an historic area that has upmarket lacquer and art as well as tourist trinkets and all kinds of food. Nearby the white tower and centre park and many local streets to wander. There are two sides to 'Drum Mountain' - on one is the temple which is great on the other tea planation. Fuzhou is famous for fish ball soup (surprise is there us meat in the balls) and light broth noodles as well as fish varieties.
