Virgin Islands Campground

We were walked in on multiple times by the owners as well as coming back to our door being unlatched. There's no way of locking up your belongings so anyone is free to walk right in. And it's seems as though they did. We spent the whole week worrying about if we'd be walked in on while changing, both of us are women so it worried us even more. On top of the walk ins we were also greeted by the smell of raw sewage more than once! It lingered all night. Everyone seemed friendly enough but definitely not the best experience.

Beautiful unknown gem of an island.

The campground isn’t for everyone but for those who want the adventure of glamping with a communal kitchen it’s terrific. The campground is on Water Island, a ✨magical ✨small island off the coast of St. Thomas. It hosts one of the nicest beaches in the area Honeymoon Beach. The managers of the campground Mark and Lori couldn’t be nicer and pick you up and drop you back at the dock. The cabins are screened in so you get the breezes and sounds of the ocean. Our cabin had a lovely queen bed and porch. There is a communal kitchen if you want to pick up food for yourselves in St. Thomas and cook. We cooked breakfast each day, dinner 1 night and then enjoyed the two restaurants the island had to offer - Dinghy’s and Heidi’s. The views are lovely and we rented a golf cart from Rachel’s to make it super easy to buzz around the island. Finally, We met so lovely people during our stay and after this crazy pandemic was an amazingly refreshing experience.

Mark and Lori were great! Very helpful. There is no free parking or free rides anywhere. Campground will pick you up at the ferry and deliver you back at the end of your stay. All other rides are not free.

The experience was amazing, living with nature on a tropical island. Hiking, swimming, snorkeling, the cabins were clean, we had electric, the only gripe I had was the bathroom is way up the hill and I was a lil nervous in the middle of the night.

This place (and the managers, Mark and Lori) are great! Simply a relaxing, good set-up for anyone who isn't looking for a high end resort type place. I love the simplicity of the cabins and the communal kitchen, where we would all gather in the evenings and talk and make new friends! Highly recommended.
