I went during Christmas time 2025 food was cold and the smell of urine on the premises was outrageous it was filthy and the cutlery we were given was mauled with finger prints and dust particles and finishing the meal to celebrate Christmas myself and my friend decided to take memorial photos to which we were escorted out and they made a huge fuss We paid for food like everyone else so I don’t understand what the problem was it was Christmas everyone is taking photos ?

Disappointing. We stayed for 2 nights. When we booked, a number of months ago, we were given the option of dining in The Gaslight Brasserie, Oyster Bar, or MacNeill's Pub. We chose The Gaslight Brasserie ; however, when we checked in, we were informed that The Gaslight Brasserie was closed for dinner, and we would have to dine in the Oyster Bar, or MacNeill’s. We chose The Oyster Bar, which was very disappointing, as it was claustrophobic, with no windows/views. Also disappointing was the fact that we were given the same menu (which had very limited choice) each night. We were also promised a room with a view of Eyre Square, but the view was only of a small section of the square.

We loved our one-night stay at this beautiful iconic hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable and had an in-room safe, an ironing board and iron, as well as a kettle with tea and instant coffee provided. The location is great, right across from Eyre Square and within short walking distance of many restaurants, pubs and shops. Breakfast was included with our stay, and it was awesome!

The breakfast was delicious and had a lovely view of the square outside. The rooms are warm, beautiful and comfortable.

The room was a bit tricky to find but staff were very helpful to show us.

To be honest I was very dissatisfied with my experience. I was very disappointed with the room. There was a cobweb on the ceiling, the wallpaper coming off the wall and at the window and the door frame starting to chip beside the bathtub. And then next problem I had with was down in MacNeills bar. The first goof thing was I had my dinner which was very enjoyable and the staff were very nice and always ask did I need anything. The problem I had was when it came to paying. I told the person at the bar that I had a deal for a meal and a drink for €27 and they were unaware of this deal and then tried ringing up to front desk and there was no answer. They had to physically go up and see what this deal was as it wasn’t on the till. Lastly the second good thing I could say is the at that the breakfast was very enjoyable and staff were nice and always asked did I need anything.
