"Fantastic stay at the Kai Hotel building of the Pierre Anne."

8.0

We stayed in the part of the hotel called the KAI hotel which is the newer building to the right of the main building if you are facing the entrance. Technically it is called KAI hotel, but shares the main facilities like the reception, pool and restaurant. This building has rooms which have private pool but they were not available. I can understand that there is a difference in quality between the 3 buildings of the hotel. The oldest which is to the the left of the main building and then the ones above the pool area. Our rooms were very nice and clean and modern with none of the problems faced by those with negative reviews. The hotel is in a brilliant location, with the sea as your direct neighbour. Located directly on the seafront promenade, It is just 10 minutes walk from the harbour where you can take great day cruises to the beautiful east of the island and a beach. In the other direction a 10-15 minutes walk to the beach where MUSAN underwater statue park is located (highly recommend for snorkelers/divers out there). A few minute walk to heart of the centre with all restaurants and nighlife. The Kai hotel building was very quiet at night despite being so close to everying and since it didn't overlook the pool but just direct out to the sea. Even though there is a major amusement park right behind the hotel, we could not hear it from our room. There is no sandy beach right outside hotel, but you can certainly enter from several areas but water shoes HIGHLY recommended, also for the beaches that are within 500m either side, as there are often rock shelves and stones. Direct across from hotel there is a little sandy area where you can enter the water but about 50m to the left of the hotel there is a circular bathing platform with several ladders into the water. To the left of that, there is a stone shelf with a set of steps in the water to a nice deeper dropoff to sandy bottom. Bus stop going east to protaras and west to nissi beach is directly outside the hotel. 1.50 Euro and 7-10 minutes takes you to Nissi and Maronossos beach. Breakfast buffet was included and was just fine. Standard fare of fruit, cereals, a variety of yoghurts (including OREO!), eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, potate, cheeses, meats pastries, and a small selection of mediterranean foods. There is an omelet station outside. Fantastic beach bar visisted by many from outside the hotel too. Pool was fine, but if you want a spot in the shade get up early. Have read things about the balcony doors not working but they are just a bit tricky. you need to pulla bottom latch down to open and if you push it back up the balcony is locked Overall a great place if you are in the new building and would at least recommend the KAI portion of the hotel.

"Absolutely awful never stay here!"

2.0

Do not stay here! Worst hotel I’ve ever been! We arrived and got allocated our room only for them to send us outside the hotel and into an apartment that wasn’t even part of the hotel. It was unsafe and dangerous no doors to the apartment and balcony door wouldn’t lock or even shut properly, scary for a group of young girls like us. We got false advertised and the staff couldn’t have cared less how upset and annoyed we were, instead they just laughed. We were put in a hotel room not even in the hotel after paying the same amount as everyone else. It was that bad the next morning we had to book another hotel at the Ramada hotel which were absolutely amazing at helping us out. However Pierre Anne offered us no refund or anything to apologise, instead as soon as we left they used our room for someone else as they had overbooked so many people. I have never arrived on holiday and been so upset and annoyed to get to a hotel. Do not stay here! They don’t deserve our money what so ever!!!

"Excellent hotel for a holiday with good food and nice location"

8.0

The hotel is in a great location, on the first line with the sea and in a quiet place almost in the city center, there are many restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment nearby, as well as a bus stop where you can get to popular beaches or to the city center, although everything is actually within walking distance. The hotel itself has an excellent concept, there is everything you need, a swimming pool with sunbeds, access to the sea (entry into the sea through the stones, it is not convenient but you can swim) there is a beach bar and a restaurant with breakfasts, and lunches or dinners. The food in the hotel is very good, breakfasts almost do not change, but for dinner there was always something new. You can also change your dinner for lunch at the beach bar. The rooms were relatively old, but with a small renovation, in general for the cost of living its good. Our bed sheets was not changed and the air conditioning did not work, we asked at the reception to fix this and everything was done, for which thank you. We also got there during a period when there were a lot of noisy English companies in the hotel, who turned on music and shouted all night long, we asked the reception to tell them this and it became a little quieter, but in the reviews I saw this quite often, so I'm not sure that a holiday with children will be the best option. The hotel has very friendly and nice staff who are always ready to help you. I leave my rating 4/5 because there is room to improve, but the hotel definitely deserves your visit for a great holiday!

"Above average"

6.0

Very basic hotel however great location. We stayed in the older building which was ok, beds were comfortable however doesn’t matter as it’s impossible to sleep longer than 4 hours straight due to the aircon being utterly useless. On the topic of aircon I seem to have contracted some kind of vile disease, however it is completely impossible to not use the aircon overnight unless you want to sleep in a sauna. They did provide fans which were VERY useful and saved our trip. The breakfast included was alright however if you’re on a young persons group holiday it being served from 7-10am is not great and you’re better off coming home for it before you go to bed. The bar between the hotel is very good, the staff were very friendly and the food was very good quality and for a reasonable price which was nice. Another point which can be a pro or a con is that it’s very easy to access the hotel and there is little security. Although the pool shuts at 7pm we ended up having a 7am dip with various other people who weren’t staying at the hotel. Overall, for the price it’s a good place to stay. The lottery of being housed in the new or old building is a slight risk however not the end of the world.

"Okay hotel, poor aircon"

4.0

Started of the holiday in a box room with me and my 2 mates, Aircon didn’t work and was unbearably hot. We complained instantly but was the night staff and he couldn’t do anything. We went the next morning and a lady told us there was nothing she could do. We consistently complained and spoke to a man called Nicholas, who agreed the room was not big enough and too hot. He went out of his way to put us in another room once it had been cleaned and gave us a fan for the night which we appreciated. The day after we got moved into the room and it was better but aircon still didn’t work. Which when speaking to people was a common thing around the hotel which resulted in us sleeping in reception most nights as only place aircon worked. But apart from that. Our rooms were clean. Food was alright, hotel was in a good location and the pool was nice. If aircon worked there wouldn’t have really been a problem.

"DISGUSTING HOTEL, DO NOT BOOK"

2.0

Most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at in my life! Upon arrival I was slightly skeptical due to extremely mixed reviews of this hotel, however I remained optimistic as the images advertised of this hotel are lovely and the price me and my friend paid for this hotel would have reflected the quality of these rooms. As I checked in and headed to my room I was already feeling less hope, the corridors were dirty and there were huge bugs everywhere, I know this is normal in a foreign country but it looked more like a bug habitat. I then opened the door to my hotel room and was met with an extremely dark and dingy room, nothing like the images provided whilst booking. There was zero light in the room, the balcony door would not open and the air con also did not work, this resulted in an awful unbearable heat 24/7. Furthermore, the wardrobe doors were broken and the entire place was filthy. The floor was gritty and left the soles of your feet black. This is not what you want to walk into your hotel room and be met with. Upon further inspection, the bathroom was in a ridiculous state, the shower and bathroom appliances looked as though it had not been cleaned in years, the limescale and dirt was atrocious. There was a dirty wash cloth and bar of soap left over from the previous guests also. This makes me question whether my room had even been cleaned before my arrival, which is honestly the bare minimum to expect when paying to stay at a hotel. I then decided that this was an unacceptable state to be expected to live in so I went and complained to the receptionist which she told me that there was nothing she could do as the hotel was overbooked and that they were having to send guests to other hotels as there were no more rooms available. She then agreed with me and said that if this was her she would be just as angry. I then questioned about the sheer false advertising and she told me that this is nothing to do with them? Which it clearly is, it can't be anyone else's fault except the hotel. She then told me to come back on the Monday (This was Saturday) to speak to the main manager, however still told me nothing will get done. I received zero apology and felt as though they had just disregarded me. The next day approaches, to which we were met with a cockroach infestation, baring in mind we have never had our balcony door open etc as it did not work and also did not have any food or drink in the room. The cockroaches were on all of our clothes and pillows, extremely unsanitary. I booked a hotel in Cyprus not signed up to take part in Im a Celebrity Get me out of here (although that is what It felt like). I then proceeded to complain again this was possibly about the fourth time in less than 2 days, as I had complained about the air con etc, something they also could not do anything about apparently. I told the receptionist that I could not in anyway reasonably be expected to sleep in a room with cockroaches, to which the lady at the receptionist told me that they were overbooked as they have already stated and that I should sleep on the beach instead - whether this was a joke or not, jokes are supposed to be funny and this was extremely unprofessional, especially given the circumstances. After back and forward them telling me there is nothing they could do they said they could change me to the room next door if I waited for it to be "cleaned". At this point I didn't care how my room looked I just wanted a basic level of cleanliness as a minimum, however once again I was met with the exact same problems as the last room, if not worse. I quickly realised that complaining about the bare minimum which a hotel should be providing was clearly not going to get me anywhere and decided to try enjoy my holiday the best that I could. I then had many complications with the keycard for the room door not working, I was told I wasn't doing it correctly? The woman at the receptionist then got one of the other guys that usually do the nighttime reception to come open my door with the master key. I said that I need a key for the rest of the holiday, as I can't just not get in for the rest of my stay. However, this is not where the problem lies here. as I was walking over to my room with the male receptionist he asked "if I was the girl who is always complaining" which I laughed and didn't know what to respond with, and during the walk over to my room he began to ask me if I go to the gym as I looked as though I did and complimented me, this made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He then opened my door for me and looked at me very strangely and I just closed the door over on him. I told him that I was going out as this was later on at night and that I will need a key to get back in - fast forward an hour my room door opens and it is him. I have no idea why he was at my room, never mind unlocking it. I decided to go out that night and my friend stayed in and she told me that several times during the night our door got opened and then closed over again. It could not have been me as I did not have a working key. As two young females this made us feel very uncomfortable as we have no idea what the intentions were behind this. I chose not to complain about this as none of the staff were taking me seriously at all and at this point we needed home. If you are looking for a hotel in Ayia Napa to book, I please advise you to not book this one as it is the worst stay I have had in my entire life and it will not meet your expectations in the slightest, nor will the staff try accommodate you in the slightest.

"perfect for young people who want party, less so for families with children"

7.0

we choose a room with a private pool, and it was recently renovated, well designed and nicely decorated, also the room was very spacious. the staff at the bar and reception is very helpful and nice. the main street is in walking distance. the common areas have very nice atmosphere, the bar is reasonably priced.

this hotel is not for families with kids, as it is filled with teens who are only there to party. as the walls are paper thin, you can hear them during the night, so this place is not the most ideal for long and relaxing sleeps. the cleanness is also questionable, in our private pool there were multiple big chunks of hair mixed with dust and dirt. also there were stains on our sheets. the breakfast was a bit mediocre.

Mooi hotel, super vriendelijk personeel. Minpunt was dat de airco niet voldoende kon koelen. Lekker buffet ´s morgens en we konden zelfs eens mee eten van het buffet ´s avonds mits kleine betaling. Het was juist Aziatische avond en heel lekker.

"1* hotel"

2.0

The pictures are not true of this hotel. My room is old and my balcony which has no light and can’t be used in the evening, has steps and view is awful and just aircon units. Some lights in room don’t work. These are the poor rooms. Floor is dirty, bathroom is miniscule and you can’t close the door without shuffling around it. Fridge has parts missing. Groups of guys playing music at 4/5am. Asked reception to swap rooms and they refused. Stayed in much better hotels previously in this resort and wouldn’t return here. Also can’t use TV as you have to leave a deposit for the remote control!!! Breakfast ok. Only plus is nice bed and location on the beach ….. which I can’t see! Note - only on day one 😫
