"The resort is very old and tired. "

6.0

Staff very welcoming and pleasant. Our cabin was clean but very dark. Bed lumpy and springs loose. Air con made lots of clunking noises and was not turned on. Pathways very uneven and unsafe. Play area was a wasted space. Trampoline was all torn and full of leaves. Swing not safe. (Should be thrown away in case a child climbs into ). Swing and seats - timber very splintery - not safe. Spa - only one jet worked - did not look clean. Walks around the resort very uninspired. The little chapel looked pretty - but reception area was very dirty and uninviting (canvas tent).

"Quiet, leafy and comfortable"

8.0

Tanglewood was easy to find. Ann called us when we were on our way, and made sure we had the directions right, but they were not needed. The large sign on the roadside made sure we had the right place. We booked the Queenslander for 2 nights, and 2 families stayed in the house. We had 5 adults and 3 children, and everybody found a bed to suit them with 4 berths left over. If you are looking for resort luxury, this is not the house for you. It is an older house, with 1 bathroom and toilet for the whole group. The house has seen better days, and is a little tired, but we found it comfortable and clean. The setting in the gardens ensured that we had privacy and quiet, and nobody came and complained about the noise that our kids were making, so I guess they didn't hear us either. The whole area is beautiful, and recommended for a visit.

"Pre wedding stay"

6.0

Stayed two nights for daughters wedding, we got ready in a two bed unit, room was big enough but lighting very dull and walls painted yellow so looked older. Location was prime reason for booking there.

"Quiet, charming cabins."

6.0

The cabin was lovely but rundown. Attitude of manager was not the most endearing. We stayed in September, spring, which is still quite cool in the hinterland. No firewood supplied for the fireplace. The cabin was very cold, even in the afternoon, so we had to go looking elsewhere to buy firewood to keep us warm that night.

"Rainforest Surrounds"

8.0

The rainforest surrounds the cabins, providing a beautiful and quiet area, save for the various bush calls. Very comfortable and cosy rooms. Very handy location just out of town away from the crowds, but still close enough to enjoy the area and its many sights and sounds. The lady greeting us was very warm and friendly and everything was sorted out before we got there.

"Conv"

6.0

Comvenient hotel with friendly staff. Cabin was great, especially the fireplace. The spa was great but there were no instructions on how to control the heat. When we went for a spa in the morning it was cold and we couldn't work out how to get it warm. The sauna didn't work. Be warned, the location of the hotel on Google Maps is incorrect. Call the owner and ask her to tell you what road it is opposite.

"Beautiful surroundings"

10.0

A beautiful setting and very cosy fire. There were some lovely serene walks around the resort. Loved the wildlife and bushland. We were close to Australia Zoo, Montville and some beautiful waterfalls.

"Resort style at a motel price"

8.0

A self contained cabin in a forest location, log fire - comfortable room it was very nice even if a little dated. My wife and I would recommend this to anyone looking for accommodation in the Montville area that wont break the bank.
