Stonesthrow - Elie

Loved everything about stonesthrow it had plenty of room as there was 6 of us views from upstairs were amazing. clean and comfortable everything we needed great to have a downstairs bedroom with ensuite as my mum has walking issues so ideal for her. Elie beach only a 2 min walk away and what a lovely beach. views were amazing beach was clean.brilliant walks along the coast all the family Loved our holiday in stonesthrow elie just wished it was longer 🥰 would recommend staying at stonesthrow we will definitely be back 😀

Everything, place was spotless, comfortable and literally a stonethrow from the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Cancelled our booking after money was taken out of our credit card

Cancelled before our arrival and money was taken from our credit card. No reason was given. Short Stays St Andrews are also their booking agents and they went above and beyond to help us as it was not their usual customer practice. We were due to go on holiday before the money would be returned to my credit card ,I was not prepared to pay for a second holiday accomodation while I waited on the return of my money. Short Stay St Andrews offered me various other accommodations and I was able to get a lovely flat . I chose specifically the accomodation in Elie to facilitate having an elderly dog and to avoid me carrying him up and down stairs. Alternative accomodation was a compromise albeit a lovely flat . I am disappointed that the owners at Stonesthrow ,Elie did not reach out with an apology for the level of inconvenience that they caused us at very short notice.

Spacious house. Well equipped. Great location for the beach.

Some furniture was a bit tired but nice house with lots of space and comfy.

Areas need attention or maintenance- e.g. wooden strip on top stair loose; curtain pole fell down when I shut curtains; stain on cushion upstairs (yuk); upstairs bin not emptied on arrival. Also no small towel each for drying face/hair (poor show to provide only one bath towel). This felt miserly. Note- usually people like to wrap their wet hair in a towel when they get out of the shower, as well as wrap their body! Downstairs shower too light (we all used upstairs shower) and sink too small in downstairs en-suite for washing face.

Location was excellent. Literally 2 mins to the beach and very close to good restaurants.

Lock ups to the rear of the property let the house down a bit. No garden at all.
