"A really nice, quiet and clean place!"

10.0

It's a nice environment and deliciously located in downtown with plenty of places where one can have a good meal or just go out for a coffee. By the way, it's one of the cheapest around and I recommend it for couples and groups of young tourists.

"Great location, fine for you pay."

6.0

It is a fine room given what you pay for. The location is excellent : right on the real de Guadalupe street and right next to the Zocalo, and yet the hotel is still quiet. However the quality of the room is far from excellent and not very new. I guess you get what you pay for...

"Great value hotel in San Cristobal"

8.0

This hotel is located right on the main walking street of San Cristobal and handy to everything. It is clean and tidy with a pleasant reception and courtyard area. We walked in thinking that it would be well over our backpacker budget and happily surprised to discover it was only 350 pesos (about $25US). We could not find anything else for similar value. Large rooms to spread out in plus Wifi. My only gripe was the pillows - very chunky which makes sleeping difficult.

"Week stay"

10.0

We took a nice hotel for the first night because it was late in the evening. We walked and looked and checked many the next day. Most of them were nice and affordable but none of the others would give us a weekly price break on 2 rooms. It is comfortable, nice hot water anytime, with a nice inner courtyard with tables and chairs so you can sit outside and use your computer. They have free wi-fi and they have 2 computers in the entry. They also have large carboys of water available so you never run out of clean drinking water. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance of multiple coffee shops, a full size grocery and tons of restaurants. It is also only 1 block off the main square and about 6 blocks to the outdoor market.

"Wonderful location, cold showers"

4.0

Staying at this hotel put me in a bad mood every day, starting with when I would walk into my bathroom only to encounter a cold shower. While the Front Desk assured me that "some" rooms have hot water, mine, on the third floor, did not. On a positive note, the area that this hotel is located in is incredible: great coffeehouses and artisan restaurants are all along the pedestrianised strip outside the hotel. Stay here to be in the heart of the city, just a block from the zocalo. And this neighbourhood seems extremely safe, even at night. Rooms, while small, are comfortable enough, and oh so cheap! There is also speedy wifi, but it only reliably works from the hotel lobby.

"Friendly, peaceful and very central"

8.0

I came to Hotel San Cristobal needing some peace and quiet but without being cut off, which was exactly what I got here. The best location in the centre of town if you want to wander around night or day. Very good value - 350 Mexican Pesos (about £17) a night for a clean and comfortable room with a large clean bathroom. The best thing about the hotel is the indoor space, especially a sunfilled courtyard where you can chill after the hubbub of the streets. The wi-fi is excellent, reception very friendly and the breakfast good for 30 pesos. Good value and good people!

"Not Bad"

6.0

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our tour. The hotel was clean and reasonably comfortable. The rooms was a little small but the bathroom, including the shower was nice and big. They do provide free wireless and have 2 Internet connected PC's downstairs. The breakfast was ok but with so many cafe's around it was not something you will use often, the best breakfast spot was left up the street at the corner with tables outside. Out the right across the road was a piza place and watering hole that was enjoyable (google street view is outdated as it does not show this place. What I liked the most was is the location on a pedestrian only street which meant that it was not noisy. It is also just off the Zocalo so ATM's are close by.

"Great little hotel in a fab location"

8.0

This hotel was lovely in the great location on one of the main pedestrian streets. It's in walking distance to everything in San Cristobal (markets, restaurants, museums). Laundry was fast and cheap. Rooms were small but comfortable enough. There is a terrace area which is the best for wifi. Very clean and secure too. Staff speak limited English but were helpful enough.

"Excellent location on a pedestrian only street"

6.0

After a trip on an overnight bus, I was looking forward to checking into a comfortable hotel. If you come on a bus or a taxi, you will have to carry your luggage for a block or two as the entrance to the hotel is on a pedestrian only street. We checked in and found the rooms to be quite small but habitable. Really no where to put your luggage and I had my big backpack and duffel bag on one side of my double bed. Also the room was very dimly lit. Light green ceramic tiled bathroom was clearly dated. As with all older buildings, the place was a bit lacking in electrical outlets. On the positive side, there is laundry service and I got 2 bags of laundry done for cheap. There are also two computers with internet access available for everyone. It is good for emailing and surfing the web but is extremely slow if you want to upload pictures. For breakfast, down the street and around the corner, there are pastry shops and bakeries for croissant and coffee.
