"Order noisette…be scorned"

2.0

Never, ever diss your customers when they are sitting at the table in your establishment. Never, ever assume because you do not understand other regional accents of French, that the speaker/customer does not understand you. We ordered noisettes. Your server, from behind the bar, commented on that to the other customers. The timing of busses and trains was such that we would have returned for a meal while awaiting our departure train, two days later. We did not because we did not wish to be demeaned twice in one week. Perhaps because it was Bretagne, this is the way it is. Normandy welcomed us….no one talked down to us; we are French speakers; Normandy embraced us with open arms and big smiles even when masked. Signed, The Americans of June 17th who came for a mid-morning coffee….

"Ok hotel"

6.0

Warm welcome. Good breakfast. Perfect location for us, literally a one-minute walk to the train station and a 10-minute walk to the town centre. The rooms were ok, but simple. No air condition and no fridge. The free wifi didn't always work, perhaps because we had the rooms the furthest away from the reception. Our room could need a new shower curtain. A quiet hotel in a quiet street in a cosy, little town.

"The service was very good but the room not"

4.0

In long gone days it must have been a grand hotel but not anymore. The room was very small, no elevator, no hair dryer, really old and smelly frayed towels. The breakfast consisted of a croissant, piece of baguette, 2 butters, jams and nutella, coffee/tea and a glass of orange juice. Next to a train station. Bar with betting facilities below.

"Typical French fare"

6.0

Stayed here for one night. Typical French Hotel and perfectly good; decor is a little tired, but clean enough, Warm welcome and service from the staff. Don't be put off by the name if you're worried about train noise - it's not like staying near Clapham Junction (or Grand Central Station, or Gare du Nord, I expect), as there didn't seem to be any night/early morning trains about. Would definitely stay here again.

"Great base for Mont Saint Michel"

8.0

We booked this as a base for Le mont. Got it on booking.com really cheap...!! We paid extra €6 for breakfast which was good. Loads of coffee (good coffee too) bread be croissants with honey ham and Nutella. The breakfast room was amazing. I felt like I was in a 70's to set. Really liked it though. The room was good. Private sink, comfy bed, two windows and a tv. Seriously can't complain for €35! Room was a bit dusty but didn't bother us. Better than paying €100 in towns nearer to the mont.

"Just sharing my thoughts on this hotel"

10.0

Firstly, I didn't stay here so I'm clearing that out just in case someone gets misguided. However, me and a friend were at the train station right next to the hotel and we needed to dump our bags somewhere for the day while we went to mont st.michel for a day trip. Luckily, we saw this place and the man in charge was the sweetest and kindest person we've met during our travels, obliging us without any complaint. So I can assure you that you would definitely like the service at this hotel. Also, the location is excellent and there's a small lake right opposite the hotel, in case you're up for a relaxing picnic. The building itself is very typically french, what you expect to see in bretagne or normandy, so the place has a really nice old school charm. We ate at the cafe downstairs and although the menu wasnt fancy, the food was pretty good!

"Okay "

6.0

This hotel looks old-fashioned and drives you back to the 70s, but it has some good point: it's next to the train station and the bus stop for Mont St-Michel, it's a short stroll to the town center with it's shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms are quiet and large enough, but don't expect too much. Host is gentle and helpful. Dol de Bretagne is small and delightful, the prefect choice for reaching Mont St-Michel.

"What's Not to Like?"

8.0

A stroll from the town centre yet almost traffic free. A somehow comforting yet ever intrusive reminder of the station nearby.Friendlyand helpful staff and owners, big value breakfast, adequate room, firm bed, a superb power shower just across the landing, and sited above a cafe bar and betting shop which closes at 8pm. All at around £25 a night for two. So what's not to like?

"old-fashioned"

8.0

Spent one night here. Room felt old-fashioned and the beds were firm but it had everything we needed and the room was quiet. The host was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed. Breakfast was ample. The town is charming and we were directed to a couple of restaurants - it was late so the finest was full but we ate in a creperie that was full of life and served good food. A good place to stay before visiting Mont St Michel.

"Charming, Quaint, and Cozy"

10.0

This is not a luxury accommodation hotel, but it has everything one needs! It is clean, quiet, the bed is comfortable, and the location is ideal (steps from the train station, and 5 minute walk from the main street with shops and cafe/bar/restaurants). The rooms are cozy with not much extra space, but there is a TV and a desk. Free wifi is included. The breakfast in the morning is a typical French breakfast: fresh croissants (delicious!) and bread with jam. You also get a pitcher of orange juice and a hot beverage of your choice. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the hotel for you as it is a 3-story walk-up (depends what floor your room is on) but for me this was not an issue, nor a deterrent. I very much enjoyed my stay, and I will return to stay at this hotel again the next time I am in Dol-de-Bretagne!
