Solemar Sicilia - Palazzo Massimo

Very close to everything Great location. Ruslan met us at check in. He was great. Lots of info and available 24/7 with quick response time. Beautiful apartment. Very clean.

Third bed room had no air con so a bit warm, but not a huge deal.

Highly central, big in size and practical!

The apartment is lovely, it’s on the 3rd floor (there’s a little lift to go up in) in a old architecture block overlooking the Teatro Massimo so very central for walking around and seeing the sights of Palermo. It wasn’t noisy despite being so central. The apartment is spacious with plenty of room for 6 girls (friends) - 3 double beds in 3 bedrooms, and 1 en suite (hand held shower) plus another separate bathroom with a normal shower and another toilet/basin room, so lots of facilities for a group. We didn’t use the kitchen much as we ate out, but an electric kettle would be useful as the one heating on the hob took quite a while. There’s a couple of maintenance things to be aware of (fuse box in lobby was needed one morning and using air con in living room needs a bucket to be emptied) but the host was very helpful and tried to cover all the information we needed, and was very quick at responding. We enjoyed the excellent location and I’d recommend staying there again if we came back to Palermo.

Everything was good - there’s a lot of useful info from the host, and it made me think it would be good to have an old fashioned property booklet that you can browse (local markets, sightseeing, beaches, restaurants, buses etc) rather than going into online links each time, though of course that has its place if you’re on the move and can access the internet.

Brilliant location, amazing view, the host was super helpful. We definitely hit jackpot finding this place

We had a fantastic stay at this apartment! It was spotlessly clean and tidy, with all the essentials provided, including fresh towels, which was a nice touch. The lift was a real bonus, while I don’t usually mind taking the stairs, it made getting our luggage up so much easier. The highlight, though, was the terrace. The view was even better than the photos, absolutely stunning! We found ourselves spending every morning and evening out there, just soaking it all in. It really made the stay extra special. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

I would have liked an iron and ironing board.

It was a spacious room and the property is very close to almost everything in Palermo. Good communication with the host.

The location was fantastic, Ruslan our host was amazing, so helpful, and nothing was to much trouble, We travelled as a family of 8, the apartment was plenty big enough for us all, we all had the most amazing stay at solemar scilla, and would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of going to palermo, to stay at these apartments, thankyou

The location was great.

We were not met on arrival as previously arranged, the host cancelled at the last minute. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t have been an issue for us at all, but given the problems we encountered in the apartment, it would have been helpful to deal with someone in person. After a long day of travel, we were unable to shower upon arrival, as we were informed the shower couldn’t be used until after 9pm due to repairs following damage from previous guests. The apartment also lacked sheets for the spare bed. Additionally, the bathroom had an unpleasant smell of vomit coming from the sink and toilet. When I reported this, I was told it was probably just the smell of silicone from the repaired shower, but this wasn’t the case. We ended up airing out the apartment and wiping down the bathroom ourselves, which helped reduce the smell. Sheets for the sofa bed were delivered the next day but my friend had already decided to leave after the first night and moved to a hotel for the rest of his trip. Despite informing the host of this, I was still charged the full tourist tax for him, even though he was now paying this through his hotel. At that point, I paid it simply to avoid any further back-and-forth and focus on enjoying the city.
