Saikatei Jidaiya

Our stay at Saikatei Jidaiya was an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and hospitable, we have never seen something quite like this before. We stayed in a room with a private onsen which was squeaky clean and featured a mini garden, that made our stay perfect. If you are looking for a great ryokan experience, this is the place to go.

Charming ryokan. The staff were always smiling and ready to help. our room has in room onsen and bath so it was convenient. Breakfast and dinner consisting mostly of local produce were exquisite.

The staff were not too familiar with the town and gave us wrong info regarding opening hours. We walked almost an hour in the cold and found the izakaya closed.

The Jidaiya Hotel has taken service to the level of an art form. Every detail, from being welcomed with hot tea at registration to being guided through the hotel and onsen to the gorgeous property itself was a truly luxurious experience. Each staff member I met was kind and encouraging- obviously taking pride in being associated with such a wonderful establishment. The food was delicious and gorgeous- whoever designs the meals is a world-class chef. For the Western traveler, I encourage you to spend the time to go to Kaminoyama. The local Tourism center is wonderful, too and there’s plenty to do for the day after your stay at Jidaiya Hotel. It’s an experience I won’t forget but hope to repeat again.
