Parral 14 Boutique Hotel

This is a beautiful property with a friendly staff. I really enjoyed my first time in CDMX and I'll be back. My only complaint would be that it might take a couple of days before you get used to how to use the hot water, as it's very sensitive.

We enjoyed our stay here! The breakfast was good and filling. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The rooms are very quiet and you can hear people talking outside/walking by at night - so bring white noise if you're a light sleeper! I would stay here again. Great location - go get a pastry at Mama Carmela around the corner!

The hot water never came on in the bathroom sink. The hot water for the shower took over 5 minutes to emerge. The TV took about 5 minutes to come on. The coffee maker was temperamental. Overall, an unacceptable experience. They offered no solution. At check-out they told me that the room had been blocked for review and maintenance. But that didn’t do me much good. I should at least get a discount for all the discomfort they caused me. Trying to take a shower was nothing short of torturous! Totally unacceptable.

Pros: Beautiful and safe location, which was the main reason for booking. Plenty of nearby restaurants and shopping, with two large parks within walking distance. Friendly and helpful cleaning/kitchen staff. Basic but tasty breakfast. Cons: Room near the front desk was noisy due to constant interactions. Room was very cold with no heat, though extra blankets were provided. No dining room; breakfast served on the patio, which was very cold in January. Unresolved water leak in the bathroom sink despite reporting it immediately. Had to remind staff for basic amenities like a hair dryer, toilet paper, and sufficient towels for four guests. Staff was unhelpful with check-out and damage deposit reimbursement, leaving it to be resolved with the bank.

Very comfortable, well thought out, functional and quiet hotel. Excellent value. Friendly and helpful staff. Pretty building, especially the double height lobby and courtyard. Gorgeous leafy street. The highlight is the neighbourhood. Within a few blocks is gorgeous Parque Mexico, endless restaurants, cafes and little boutiques. Lovely place to stroll around and explore, peaceful and feels totally calm and safe. Also a lovely walk through the park to the anthropology museum. If you’re planning on exploring the hectic city centre, it’s close by and easy to get around on public transport, and La Condesa makes a quiet retreat from the buzz.
