Harana Surf Resort - Hostel

The location was great; motorbikes available on site to rent; food at the restaurant was great

Two incidents with the staff had me saying "I'm confused", but the manager was there to straighten things out - i.e. when checking out, the staff told me I had an outstanding bill to settle with the restaurant, but we paid with credit card after each meal, so there wouldn't had been anything outstanding. Otherwise, it was a great stay

The property was close to many restaurants and surf breaks.

The shower gave me a burn on my head. The resort wasn’t advertised as a party scene. Thankfully we brought ear plugs. Our whole room was rattling from loud music until 1am. I’m sure it’s a great place to be if that is your scene! We decided to book a room somewhere else and forfeit our second night so we could get some sleep.

The location of the resort is great - it’s on the main stretch yet slightly secluded, which is perfect. The best part is that the resort is right on the beach where we went surfing, so we were always the first ones in the water, enjoying an empty lineup. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the resort was spotless. Saturday Night parties were fun.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, but if I had to pinpoint something, it would be that a common area to hang out would have been nice for meeting fellow travelers.

Perfect mixture of a beautiful, from Filipino culture infused, ambience and western amenities with a good restaurant, nice staff and a good surf school with the surf spot at your doorstep. We will certainly come back.
