The Cove Tasmania

Scenery. The Alexander Centre was amazing, the set-up and comfort from the outside relax, firepits, lounge, dining, kitchen, drinks bar all WOW.

The bed. It didn't feel secure, sturdy. It was so low for us (The housekeepers who make these I salute you) and made getting in and out a struggle.. We would have loved beachview but with no toilet and bad weather ( walking to shared bathroom -which is shower and toilets)We made do with the garden view (toilet and sink- not a bathroom). A small outside table with the chairs would be great.

We absolutely loved the Cove and wish we had booked more than 1 night in a hardtop glamping with sea view (no bathroom). Location was very close to Devonport town centre (driving distance so maybe not great for those without a vehicle). The facilities in the communal "Alexander Centre" exceeded expectations, we ordered takeaway and sat in the dining area overlooking the ocean sunset then sat by the firepit to enjoy the warmth once the sun went down. The room itself is more like a cabin - insulated walls and roof, with fridge and tea making facilities. The bed was comfy and linens were so soft. Would be lovely to have ensuites but it was less than 20metres to the communal bathrooms and while going to the bathrooms in the middle of the night it was quite fun to see local little penguins and wallabys exploring the grounds. Highlight was watching the little penguin colony coming in at sunset to return home from sea and watching the local animals (wallabys, baby cows, peacocks, penguins). Would recommend!

Would be willing to pay more for a toilet in the room but those rooms weren't available and we weren't willing to sacrifice the sea view which was incredible.

Our stay was amazing. Everything was immaculately clean and well kept. Beautiful grounds, with little penguins coming right up to your hut. Facilities and everything provided were exceptional. We loved our stay and will be recommending to all of our friends and family.

Unfortunately staffing seemed difficult, no spa and restaurant service was a bit average. Understandable that this is out of their control, so can't fault them. Plenty of options for food around Devonport and activities to do

Loved our little room with a sea view. Really appreciated having a kettle and fridge in our room. The penguins were also amazing! So close and so many!

We used the shared kitchen and some implements weren’t very clean but that is other people staying there’s responsibility.

Location & vista. Viewing access to penguins coming from the ocean to land at night
