Sunset Motel

It’s a very clean and the beds are comfortable! I don’t have to bend or squat to take a shower, plenty of hot water for showers!

Would like suitcase racks in the rooms but no biggie.

Nice out of the way facility. Don't know about the staff because I never saw any of them. Efficient check in and check out.

Only negative was parking. I had a late night engagement in St. Louis and when I returned to the motel there was no parking available, so I had to park in the bank parking lot next door. Not that inconvenient, but not the best arrangement

The manager came right up as soon as we pulled in and introduced himself and showed us around. Room is new, redone. Peace is very cute, quaint, nice. Waterloo is wonderful to walk around and everything is within a couple blocks of the Sunset.

The only marginal downside was strong smell of cleaners that dissipated, but I have a strong nose.

An older property that is like an old motor court. Parking is available in front of the rooms, and in a few covered garages. The amenities are few, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Waterloo is an interesting small town, with historical ties to historical figures. The motel is within a few blocks of the quaint downtown streets.

Some visitors used to being pampered at high-end lodgings may miss personal services. It is more a hideaway than a hotel.

It was very clean and the staff were very kind and quick to respond to messages. It's a beautiful town in a friendly and safe area. It had a frig, microwave, and coffee maker with a couple water bottles, which was super thoughtful! There is on-site laundry facilities and ice machine.

Check-in was easy because I had received a text earlier in the day with instructions of which room # and parking options, and the door was unlocked with keys inside ready whenever I arrived. This definitely made check-in easy and effortless, but as a woman traveling alone I was uneasy not seeing any staff or knowing where things like ice and nearby restaurants, etc were. And not knowing anything about the area I didn't know if it was safe to venture out and walk around town or even where to go. I could have texted any questions and gotten a response immediately, which was very nice, but had there been an office and a visible person to connect with I would have felt safer.

We really liked the property and how convenient it was to everything!! It was very clean, comfortable, nice, homey and welcoming. It was exactly what we needed. I also loved the fact that The Coffee Girl was within a 500 ft walk!!

The only thing I can think of is that there weren’t any curtains on the bedroom window.

They took our money when we didn't even stay a d they weren't even open when we gor there
