Ajisai Onsen Ryokan - Award Winning Private Open Air Onsen

The traditional Keiseki dinner was pretty good, not all of it, but most of it. The outdoor onsen was beautiful, but not worth the money spent, seeing as you could only spend minimal time in water.

No shower or bath in room. Bed not comfortable. Pillows horrible. No interaction at all with other people. Staff were not friendly. Not mean or rude, just literally there to check you in. No smiles or welcoming feeling from them. Room was old and nothing to it.

C’est un petit établissement traditionnel niché dans la montagne. Il est propre, nous avions pris la grande chambre, elle était très spacieuse, très bien équipée, nous avons beaucoup galéré pour régler la climatisation car il n’y a aucune explication sur les télécommandes qui sont en japonais japonais. Nous avons dû faire appel au personnel 😅😅 La décoration est très classique, c’est pour ça que nous étions venus aussi. Nous avions une formule avec dîner et petit déjeuner compris. C’est délicat, raffiné, réel effort sur la présentation ces gouttes. Les produits sont bons et là vous allez de la vraie cuisine, japonaise traditionnel. Pour ce qui est des bains chauds, nous avons particulièrement apprécié le fait qu’ils soient privatisables. La partie extérieure était très agréable. Je vous recommande même s’il fait froid. La partie intérieure aurait peut-être besoin est très fonctionnelle, d’une décoration plus sobre et classique. Pas spécialement glamour mais très fonctionnelle.

Ajoutez des notices d’utilisation pour les différents appareils (Clim/tv…)

The three private onsens were fantastic and their dinner was amazing

Our family room was below another and the first night the young family room were using the futons like trampolines at 6am

The hotel was beautiful, the staff were absolutely lovely and always did everything they could to make us as happy and comfortable as possible during our stay. The food was great and the Onsen was so relaxing and a really special experience.

The staff were amazing and very attentive. The traditional meal in the evening and the private onsen was lovely. We were able to book times for this with no problem, although it was abit of a walk to get there it was in a lovely quiet location.

It would be good if there was an area to go to if you didn't want to be in your room all the time.

Difficult to get a taxi and not very close to the station or bus. Managing luggage was a challenge

It was beautiful and secluded so felt like a nice get away from the city. The outdoor onsen was amazing.

We had a little bit of a walk off the beaten trail to find the place but that was part of the charm.
