Bodhi Tree Cottage - Grove Road Cottages

The house was big, good sized living and bedrooms.bathroom was a good size. Lovely old house with some great wooden furniture. Beds and settees comfy and large. Easy walk to the centre of town. Communication was good and easy to get the keys.

Very noisy road back bedroom and attic room were quieter. The slatted blinds were not sufficient to keep the light out on Summer mornings. The kitchen could do with updating with new crockery etc. parking is tricky because of the permits- but paid car parks very close

Dirty. Poor maintenance. Nothing resembling the website photographs

We expected a clean property in good working order. We found a filthy one which did not resemble the description in the advert. The yard was filled with over a hundred cigarette ends which we had to clear up. Several fixtures and fittings were broken including the kitchen sink taps the shower head and a leg on the couch which collapsed when someone sat on it. None of the sinks had plugs making it difficult to wash properly. There were visible cob webs in multiple corners and the walls curtains and paint work were noticeably stained and dirty. The top floor double bedroom was unusable due to an extremely steep and dangerous staircase that was not up to building regs . No parking permit despite advertising one. Faeces on the underside of the duvet cover was the final straw......

Good location

Shabby appearance. Kitchen tap losse. Only 1. Hand towel in bathroom for 4 people. Sofa leg broken held up by books. No free parking as advertised. Parking at station about 5 minutes walk. No towel in downstairs toilet.

Perfect location! Very responsive host. Comfy beds, bathroom spotless. Good value.

A few things needed tidying up, curtain pole was loose, some blinds didn’t work. The oven gloves were worn and dirty. The attic room is not for the faint hearted-very steep stairs and not much headroom.

Only 2 big spoons in drawer for 6 guests??! The bed slats on the top floor bed collapsed into the middle. Uncomfortable night for my son and partner. No cost hooks at entrance to hang coats. Barely room for 6 to sit comfortably, yet offered 3 double rooms ??!
