The Winston Solvang

Not your typical checking in. This is a no receptionist property. Check-in was fast and real easy. Very nice spacious room.

Nice, over-sized rooms. Well appointed. This is a no- contact hotel. There is no lobby. You check-in by phone. However, the staff on the other end is very accomodating. The hotel sits on the 3nd & 3rd floors, above the local Irish Pub. Private parking and an elevator. Very quiet and walking distance to anywhere in Solvang. Will definitely stay here again.

Very central, room was fabulous, happy hour had great wines. Easy checkin without having a lobby.

The decor, free and easy self-park, room amenities, self-check in features, security, and easy access to staff by text message are amazing. The price for what is offered is unbeatable. We came for a one night stay and immediately extended for a second night!

I reserved two rooms for two couples. Check in is via code. Contact with Hotel if via email, text or phone, or if you happen to see employees on site. Code to enter room is sent via email, day of arrival. Rooms were spacious, and nicely painted. Probably best hotel shower that I have used. Beds were very comfortable. Took a while to find rooms, better signage should be posted. My room was noisy during the day, as it was above a pub, but nice and quiet during the night. HVAC system was very user friendly, and I set the fan speed at night to low so it was a pleasant white noise. Negatives: I took a shower afternoon of arrival. Received a knock on the door, I was still clothless, so maintenance man came back in 20 minutes. Apparently water had leaked from my shower drain to the floor below. I would have taken a shower the next morning, but didn't fearful of more leaking. skylight had shades that operated mechanically, but one didn't work so my wife woke up earlier than she would have liked with the sun shining in her face. Carpets have seen better days. No kind of breakfast is served or vouchers with local vendors, like many hotels in Solvang do. I paid more than I ever have for a hotel in Solvang, and it wasn't even a weekend night. I probably will not stay here again.

The Winston is a show stopper! I booked a night as a stopover in Solvang as part of my daughter's birthday week trip. We've stayed in Solvang before, but this was our first stay here. The moment we stepped inside, I texted the Winton rep and immediately asked to book a second night. We will definitely return here for future Solvang trips! The service, the decor, special touches in the room, the pure cleanliness, and what you get for the price is so worth it!

The rooms were huge and very clean and comfortable

Just worth noting that there is no front desk / staff on premises- not a huge deal breaker but definitely an adjustment
