Casa Modesta

It was very serene. I enjoyed walking the property & listening to the nature sounds. Lots of nice little areas to sit & the architecture was beautiful to look at. Food was great. Alexander was lovely and gave us a lot of history & tips about the town. The staff was nice. I liked being a bit out of the center of town. Being able to interact with the garden by picking herbs to make drinks was a nice treat.

There wasn't a fridge in our room (but there are in most rooms i believe), so I had little access to cold bottled water unless we paid for small bottles in the communal kitchen fridge. I wish there was a bit more space for luggage (it took over the seating area in the room) but if you unpacked in the closet you might be fine. I did run a bit hot in the room during the night, the AC takes a while to get up & running but did get cool in there - maybe the sheets could be more breathable? My older father would've liked access to a regular chair near the room (the lounging chairs are hard for him to get in & out of). I think we would have used the roof top more if there was maybe a table & more chairs on the roof, since we were a group of 4.

La amabilidad y trato del personal, los detalles y decoración del alojamiento y el desayuno buenísimo.

La habitación y cama son pequeñas, no hay mininevera en la habitación, tiene poca privacidad (terraza común con las otras habitaciones) y hay que subir las maletas por escalera. Aunque es un sitio especial, no nos pareció especialmente cómodo. Ideal para una-dos noches.

Really enjoyed our stay at Casa Modesta. Carlos and the staff were all lovely and made our stay feel very special. We dined there one night by the pool and very much enjoyed dinner and the breakfast each day. The authentic family touches were wonderful. We borrowed the bikes and cycled to Fuseta one day. Town of Olhao was beautiful to walk through.

Room was small and lacked in bathroom supplies eg body wash and conditioner.

A true architectural treat, clearly renovated with craft and attention to detail. We loved everything about our stay: the host's tour, the room, the honesty bar, the bikes available to borrow, the breakfasts, the list goes on! Highly recommend if you like interesting boutique hotels.

Der Unterkunft ist sehr schlicht und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Sehr sauber . Das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück sehr lecker, vielfältig und gleichzeitig gesund. Das Essen findet im Schatten einer alten Pinien statt, bei der Musik der vielen Vögeln. Es lohnt sich, einmal zu Abend dort zu speisen, Candlelight Dinner mit richtig leckerem, portugiesischen Essen. Begabter Koch!

Die Anlage ist sehr interessant, das Personal sehr zuvorkommend. Das Zimmer war wirklich sehr schön, allerdings ist die Klimaanlage hinter dem Bett suboptimal und ist störend positioniert. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und aufwendig. Das angebotene Abendessen war allerdings überteuert und Getränke - anders als deklariert - nicht inbegriffen sondern wurden gesondert in Rechnung gestellt. Leider war der Pool nicht sauber, der Ablauf war sichtlich verstopft. Das Gesamtkonzept ist gut aber bei dem Preis fehlt das 'Finish' - schade...

überteuertes Abendessen und nicht sauberer Pool, Die End-Abrechnung von Getränken war leider nicht richtig und trotz Korrekturversuch immer noch nicht korrekt... wir haben es belassen und Ruhe bewahrt, denn es war ja grundsätzlich schön...Anmerk.: Ein Kühlschrank im Zimmer ist immer hilfreich...

My visit started with Carlos the owner texting me to offer early check in, that was really priceless, because i already arrived and tired:) You immediatelly feel at home and cared about. Its a small place, you get to know all staff very quickely. There are honesty bar, so you can make yourself a cocktail and go next to pool enjoy your life:) Few steps and you are on Ecovia - nice walking way near the lagoon, where I met flamingos and lots of other birds I dont know names:) beautiful minimalistic but still portuguese design, done by carlos sister, architect. highly recommend
