Breakfast was good but the staffs couldn't get our orders right. They messed up our omelette orders 3 out of 4 days we were there. Jorick was the worst. really slow and terrible service.

The worst hospitality with Marriott I ever been with. Service was terrible. The curly hair bartender girl ignored me and other lady who been trying to get service when it wasn't even busy at the bar and Jose pool boy need more training for service industries and bartending class. I ordered skinny margarita with Jose and I told him only tequila and fresh lime juice but he gave me super sweet margarita and I couldn't drink it so I had to return but he said it was made exactly what I said, I asked him back how he made it, the answer was tequila and margarita mix. How couldn't they know that the margarita mix has so much sugar and very sweet? my order was simple and shouldn't be messed up. I hate to return things or complain about it because I am also in service industry like them but this trip was just horrible. Everything was so wrong since checking in that I didn't want to go to every details. I wanted to join the Aqua Zumba class at 11 so I went to the pool and waited for it. At 11.15 I asked the staff if the class was still going on because it was late, the answer was " it's island time, people don't care about what time it is, you should enjoy your vacation without looking at your time!" I was stunt and wow! Is this how the staff talking to guests?? so unprofessional. During 5 days stay, I tried to avoid contact those people, I didn't even to talk to them, concierge desk also rude so I ended up buying all tours online because I preferred to deal with someone else instead of talking to people there. I went out and spent money somewhere else instead of doing that at the hotel so I could get better service and smile. I would say the worst thing of my trip is staying here. Will never come back to the Mill again and hope you can do better in the future.

This is my fourth time staying here, and I still absolutely love this place. Every staff member is attentive, warm, and energetic, making each stay a wonderful experience. I’ve noticed many improvements since my previous visits. They’ve added lounge chairs by the pool, offer live music every night with talented singers, and even host water aerobics sessions in the mornings. For families with children, the Kids Cave is fantastic. It’s much more than a basic playground like those at many other resorts. They have dedicated staff who keep the kids entertained, including Javier, the magician. He is incredibly friendly, funny, and great with children. My kid absolutely loved his magic shows. We had an amazing time during this stay and created many wonderful memories. We will definitely be coming back again!

The Mill is a great choice for a visit to Aruba. This is our 3rd trip to Aruba and 2nd at the Mill. Location: We love the location. It’s a short walk to the beach (Palm Beach) or if you prefer you can get the shuttle which takes a couple of minutes. Its also only a 10 minute walk up to strip where all the restaurants and shops are. But equally far away enough that is quiet. There’s bus stops just outside if you want to head up or down the coast and don’t have a car. The last 2 times we hired a car but this visit to Aruba we didn’t need one. Beach: We love the beach area at the end of Palm beach. The Mill has an area in between the Riu and St Regis. They have beds, parasols, towels and even floaty mats to use on the water. There’s also cold ice water. Everything you could need. If you want to buy food or ice cream , Bugaloe beach bar is a couple minutes walk. It’s also an easy walk down the coast to Eagle Beach. The beach has stunning scenery, clear water and right in front of the painted tower and deck which you can swim out to ( we love this!) Every day we’d swim to the tower. The kids love jumping off and there’s plenty of fish living underneath so a nice little bit of snorkelling just off shore. We liked the puffer fish. Also lots of big hermit crabs living on the bottom if you can spot them. This bit of Palm beach really has everything we need. We went up to Boca Catalina (on the bus) one day to snorkel but otherwise were very happy with the Beach area the Mill offers. Wifi is also available at the beach. Staff: All the staff are friendly and attentive. We were checked in and out by Glen. He was very helpful. Staff were happy to print my boarding passes on check out. The staff in the Allegra restaurant were all exceptional. Food: Last time we stayed we were bed and breakfast only but this time through Expedia there was only a full board option. I had emailed the hotel a couple times as being a vegan and vegetarian family I was a bit concerned about the a la carte options. Sadly I didn’t get a reply. I also messaged the restaurant directly on facebook and they did reply saying someone would email me to discuss options for our stay but they didn’t. If you eat meat and fish then not a problem for you but we did struggle a bit as the menu was limited. I have to say the staff were fantastic and actually very accommodating during our stay. I just felt awkward every meal time having to ask for modifications. “Can I have the fish tacos without the fish” etc. It would have just been nice to have seen more vegetarian/vegan options to save this complication every meal time. My son was happy with margherita pizza (and ate 9 during our stay!) but the rest of us did prefer a bit of variation. As a vegan of 20 years I was very surprised to see a menu with no vegan options. I have to say though the full board option is very good value with all meals included. Aruba can be very expensive to eat. Rooms: Rooms are large and clean. Beds very comfy. We had a garden view which in my opinion is better as the pool view could be noisy. There’s a kitchenette with basic supplies if you want to cook and a large fridge with freezer. We did go to Superfoods to get snacks in some basic provisions. We walked there (30 mins) and got a taxi back. You can also getting shopping delivered. The only thing I think is lacking from the room is an option to have a roll out bed (or have 2 singles and a double instead of 2 doubles ) as my children are 8 and 11 and refused to share a bed so we had to share with a child in each bed. On Expedia it did say roll out beds were available I booked but they are not. I really want to stay at the Mill again if we go to Aruba but this would be a limiting factor for us sadly. If they offered a ‘family room’ with separate beds (or a roll away bed ) option that would be useful. I would love to stay here again. Facilities: We used the laundry on our last day. Its $3 for a token for the washer and same for the dryer. Its $1 for detergent. The cycles are both 30 minutes. Very convenient. We used the ‘market’ once to buy 2 large sharing bags of crisps on our last day. It came to $22 which was pretty crazy! There’s very limited items to buy, mainly snacks and drinks. There's a gym on site. My partner used it twice. The Pool: We love the pool area. Both pools are great. One is only 1m deep so great for kids. There are loungers in the pool which have been upgraded since our last stay. Always plenty of sunbeds free. We love the large Bali beds which fit all of us on and under shade, they are very comfy. We never had a problem getting one. Pool towels are available from the hut. Its very relaxing around the pool although there’s usually music from the bar. In the evening there was live music which always sounded good. The wildlife: The iguanas definitely need their own mention. They are incredible. You are never far from lizards at the hotel and they are just beautiful and wonderful to see lounging around soaking up the sun. Aruba is famous for the iguanas and the Mill is a great place to see them. Also lots of beautiful birds around. A very tropical feel to the place. We saw a toad one morning too. Outside the hotel is a freshwater ditch with turtles and sometimes a heron. Sadly, this is quite dirty and always had rubbish in it. This could have done with more maintenance to protect the wildlife. Just one thing to be aware of, they charge your credit card before check out. I assume they do this to save time but I actually had a lot of cash left which I would have preferred to have used. Overall we love the Mill. Yes mealtimes were a bit problematic for us but the food was good quality and staff were helpful and friendly. We love the location, facilities, iguanas and the beach area and would definitely go back.
