"Can't beat this place for the price"

The location is phenomenal and we loved it. The room was clean, front desk staff were friendly and helpful, we didnb't have any hassles. When a drain clogged in the kitchen, they fixed it right away and we didn't have any more problems with it. Pier 14, a fantastic restaurant, is a 2 minute walk on the beach, Olympic Cafe Pancake House is across the street, gay dolphin 10-min walk, New York Pizza is about the same. The kitchen is fully equipped and we cooked ourselves breakfast most mornings and some terrific dinners most of our evenings. The dining area is spacious for the room, the view is unmatched, and the sleeping comfortable. The place is looking its age though, so there were some permanent stains on the sofa, drawers would get stuck, and so forth. The balcony is alomst non existant--it's basically a ledge with a railing so you don't fall out of the sliding glass door and have a place to hang wet bathing suits and towels. Also, while the room sleeps four, it a little cramped for four people to hang out with luggage and everything else. Still, with good weather, about the only thing we did was eat dinner and sleep in there so it was never a serious issue. But you know what? We paid 54 dollars a night for middle-of-boardwalk-on-the-beach lodgings, and for that, no serious complaints. If you're a budget traveler, this Yachtsman is a fantastic choice. Not sure how long that will last because they are selling units and converting to condo. Get 'em while they last.

"Good for the price "

Place was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Only thing I didn't like was no balcony. Location is very close to the boardwalk and entertainment.

Advertised as room with balcony , we were very disappointed than our “balcony” was 1 ft wide !!! The only elevator working broke down multiple times a day , and our toilet was coming off of the floor , location is great , staff was great but probably wouldnt stay again

It was a good budget option right on the boardwalk. Don't expect anything fancy. The room was dated but had everything you would need. Full kitchen was very nice. Great view of the ocean. Only issues we encountered all weekend were having to get our keys reset (at least 5-6 times) and the elevators breaking. One elevator broke on the first day we were there and was never fixed by the time we left. The other elevator would break once or twice a day for an hour or two each day we were there. I'd recommend getting a lower level room if possible so you aren't stuck walking up 10 flights of stairs. The location is great. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are not dirty. Just not updated. I would probably stay again just for the price and location.

Everything was clean. The pool, hot tub and ocean were easy to access. The staff were very helpful and proffesioinal. I will be returning to the establishment. Very happy with my stay.

Upon arrival we checked in to the hotel and immediately once going into our room we were not satisfied with the cleanliness of the room. The freezer had brown, rusty stains in it. The mirrors had a lot of streaks and looked unclean. The air conditioner was filthy with dust making the room smell like musk. And the supposed “balcony” was literally 12 inches long in width. You can only step a foot onto it. The couch had brown disgusting stains all over it. And the only working elevator stopped working when we got there causing us to bring our 89 year old elder up four flights of stairs along with all of our belongings. We stayed in the room for no more than 20 minutes before deciding we wanted a leave and get a refund. We paid a travel protection plan and the receptionist told us to call Expedia for a refund and now we received an email saying the manager of Yachtsman hotel is denying our refund. We are completely unsatisfied with the way the hotel has handed the situation and are trying to steal our money for a hotel that we never even stayed in.
