Location was really good if your visiting Chatsworth House

A little tired and in need of a refurb.

Room was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was tasty and the staff were very friendly.

I do not have the best back and felt the mattress could have been a bit thicker .

Lovely cosy room to stay in. A warm welcome from the staff. Lovely atmosphere in the bar, which serves a great selection of drinks and some tasty food - recommend booking in advance as they are very busy. Great location for visiting Chatsworth, Bakewell, Matlock as well as many other parts of Derbyshire, including Eyam - a village that a taxi driver told us about with a history regarding bubonic plague and their fight to stop its spread.

Compared to a lot of options in the local area, this pub was competitively priced and for the money, we were really pleased with what we got. Staff were friendly, and we ate dinner at the pub and the food was good.

Breakfast is cooked fresh to order, but this means there is a fairly long wait for the cooked part of breakfast (but there are cereals / juice / coffee to keep you going :-) )
