The Moon Inn at Stoney Middleton

Beautiful old pub and rooms are to the great of property. So no noise from the pub.

To the side of one of the beds the wall was quite black with damp.

Amazing pub , we really enjoyed our stay. Really lovely staff, the locals were also friendly. The food was delicious, had the fish pie, steak pie and pizza , all delicious. Really good full english breakfast too. Our room was nicely decorated, comfortable and very clean. Good location for local walks, the village chip shop was also great. Not far to drive to other pubs, towns and sights. Recommend the walk to Eyam, the cafe there and the museum. Froggatt edge is a lovely walk too. We would definitely return.

Can hear the extractor fans running all the time but not loud enough to disturb sleep. We were at the back away from the road so no road noise. We had a roof light rather than a window.

Clean bedding

Dirty mirror covered in dust. Bed cushions stained. Shower tray didn’t drain properly. Struggled with hot water from tap. Room cold on arrival no heating on and window open, presumably to rid smells. Our dark jeans covered in white dog hair when we left. Inconsistent staff. Poor food at evening meal. Chose evening meal from menu in room to find a different menu at the restaurant Food expensive for what was served

Room awful bed cover stained. Everything shook as you walked across room. Shower room like a broom cupboard. Carpets worn and dirty. This is the first time I’ve had a bad experience with booking. Com

Excellent breakfasts!

Evening meal and breakfast most enjoyable. Staff most attentive.

Room was of a good size and plenty of hanging and drawer space. we would have preferred fresh orange juice with our breakfast but apart from that very good staff are brilliant

The room was very spacious and clean. Coffee and tea facilities were provided and there are plenty of toiletries. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing we didn't like.

Room was a good size (superior room), warm and cosy in December. The bed was large and very comfortable, couldn’t hear any noise from other guests. En suite bathroom with large shower cubicle. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Unfortunately, road noise from heavy vehicles passing on main through road next to the Inn, can be disturbing at night if a light sleeper.
