Good location, quiet street, large room, safe parking
there were 4 of us that stayed in the family rooms (2 very large rooms with an ensuite in the middle). the atmosphere was very relaxing and the staff were very accommodating. we will be staying there again when in Auckland.
As a young family we booked the ‘2 bedroom apartment’, only to realise it was 2 separate bedrooms separated by a common area accessible by anyone including the bathroom - which was totally unacceptable with two young children in toe. The room amenities were minimal, no kitchenette but just a kettle and mini fridge which hummed all night. The cleanliness of the rooms were ok but for the windows which were filthy. The hotel is actually a separate ‘granny flat’ building outside of the main residence which is privately occupied by the operators and their families so it seems. We had assumed we’d be staying in the beautiful historic house based on the photos, but probably our fault not looking into the detail a little more. The pool was also very dirty and we didn’t chance swimming in it. On the positive side the place is well located just off the motorway to the airport and walking distance to morning side cafes and bars etc.
