Host & Stay - No 5 Hoggarths Yard

We love this little gem of a place, it’s really great for the kids and our dog. We’ve stayed 3 times and will always come back to this place as it’s so clean and a great bit of space for us all.

The location was good, within walking distance of Whitby town. Dog friendly, with dog bowls, a bed and toys. The home had parking right in front. Lots of places to get food within walking distance.

The carpet was very dirty in the living room area

It’s not that I did not like the house,would recommend a wooden floor instead of carpet ,that’s just my opinion

Myself and my husband was very impressed by this property and its location! It was clean and very comfortable. Only a 5-10 min walk to bars, pubs and attractions! We had a great stay and will def be back in the future.

The entrance to Hoggarth Yard is easily missed. Access is through an arch way under a building. A quick call to the company & they explained it. Everything in the house was as expected. It is large house lots of space. There is a single parking space right outside the front door. The previously reported issues of poor mattresses & leaking shower are all fixed. There are lots of condiments in the kitchen, herbs & spices too, but it's long life mini milk pots in the fridge. The shower, wow! The water pressure is fabulous, the bath wide & deep. Lots of storage in the 2 main bedrooms, 3rd bed could fit a medium height adult. Heating is easy to use, push button up up for on & down for off. The Fleece, 5 mins from the house, is a great little pub, lovely & friendly staff, great choice of gins too. They sell sandwiches, pies & pizza too. There is a chip shop 2 mins from Hoggarth Yard. Walk further & lots of food choices, though they tend to close early evening. Carry on round & over the bridge into Whitby for more food options. We ate at The Pier pub, very large portions, reasonable prices & pleasant staff. This was our 1st visit to Whitby & we will return. P.s. no, there isn't a coffee machine. If that's a deal breaker for you, then I suggest taking your own with you, or you will miss out on a great house!
