Our experience with communication between us and Pond Cottage was unfortunately quite poor. Upon our arrival at 14:30 after a lengthy 6-hour journey, we found the property open and decided to enter to use the facilities. However, our initial encounter with Jane was less than welcoming. Instead of a warm reception, Jane greeted us with hostility, informing us abruptly that the cottage was not yet ready and that we needed to vacate the premises. This encounter left us feeling unwelcome, confused, and uncertain about how to proceed. When we returning to the cottage at 17:30, hoping for a smoother experience, we were met by Henry. Despite our efforts to discuss the earlier encounter with Jane and express our concerns, Henry engaged in a lengthy discussion about his frustrations with booking.com and their policies regarding pets. While we empathise with their challenges, we were disappointed that our concerns were not acknowledged or addressed, leaving us feeling upset and humiliated. This experience was particularly distressing for my 14-year-old daughter, who witnessed her mother in tears due to the unpleasant encounter. Later in the evening at 23:00, we encountered further issues when we found ourselves locked out of the cottage. It appeared that the booking.com had indicated that we were leaving, resulting in our inability to access the property. This added to our frustration and discomfort, especially considering the late hour and our exhaustion from the day's events. Although we eventually gained access to the cottage and attempted to make ourselves comfortable, we encountered yet another challenge when we discovered that the heating was not functional until 7:00 am after contact with the owner. While her daughter mentioned that her mum can be hot-headed this doesn't not excuse the treatment we've received as paying guests. No Privacy! and we won't be returning to Pond Cottage!

Brilliant location, out of the way but also just a short walk to the pub.

Felt a little bit over looked by the neighbouring cottage but it wasn’t a problem

I loved the style of the property. Very cosy and a great design. The location was peaceful. The hot tub was amazing. The bread & jam on arrival was a lovely touch. Great place for a peaceful, relaxing break.

The smart TV did not work , also if you have a low car , there are quite a few dips on the track on the way up to the cottage. So an SUV would be better.
