VNSuper Hotel is the second hotel of Lohas hotel group I’ve stayed with. I really like the way their hotels operate. Firstly, although the room is quite small, but it is nicely and funtionally furnished. The room itself is clean. Secondly, hot spring is free and is carefully organised (time for female and male is separate, lockers, shampoo and body lotion are provided for free). Thirdly, the staffs are friendly, supportive and enthusiastic. They helped us a lot in finding bus schedule, introduced us to various tourist activities, etc. The buffet breakfast is fine, not the best I’ve tried so far but I still enjoyed it. Last but not least, the location is okay. It takes ~10 mins walk from Hakodate train station, but it’s super easy to walk. There are many local restaurants and shops around the hotel, so finding a place to eat is convinient too.
AUThis was our first time to travel to Hakodate on holidays - we just loved Hakodate city! We stayed at the very convenient Super Hotel Hakodate for 3 nights with my wife and 15yr old daughter. Don't expect luxurious Shangria-la Hotel amenities or swimming pool - this is a basic yet very typical, standard Japanese business hotel that's typically 'confined' and yet very functional - no big issue. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very modern. We had a small double bed with a small bunk above it and good views (SE) across to the ocean - Tsuguru Straits. (We really enjoyed watching the massive flocks of seabirds aggressively attacking the schools of fish on the ocean surface) All the staff at Super Hotel were just super friendly, helpful and attentive and spoke a small amount of basic english. I accidentally pre-booked a smoking room/floor - Yeelch :... - but the helpful staff kindly offered to change it the next morning (hotel was fully booked that night). Super Hotel is a short and easy 8min walk from the Hakodate station and seafood markets (uni!!!) - or if your feeling lazy 3mins by taxi. It's only 30seconds to the closest convenience store and drugstore. Hotel parking is immediately out the front and also in the hotel's car stacker. The complimentary 'all-you-can-eat' buffet breakfast (Japanese/Western) was the best part of the stay - that definitely made the stay very economical! Checkin time was from 3:00pm - quite standard really all around the world. There are hot spring baths, WiFi and a convenient coin laundry. The 'Super Hotel Hakodate' just can't be missed - it is clearly signposted with a MASSIVE yellow/blue sign across the whole roof width (floodlit at night) and further large yellow/blue signs on each street corner. We were VERY happy with the hotel for the price (AUD$180/night/3people - including breakfast!) Obviously expect to pay more during peak periods/holidays. During our stay the guests seemed to be mostly young Japanese families and a few Japanese couples. Would definitely stay here again for sure!
GBStayed here for a little trip to Hakodate. Budget hotel but good for what it was. Can choose type of pillow and Onsen was very small but nice. Breakfast didn’t have much choice for westerners but had scrambled egg. Would recommend if not spending long in room. Was quiet and we managed to sleep well.
GRIt was a last minute booking because the price was good and it's near to the JR Station. It's an easy walk from the train station, however, due to no English words on its sign board my friend and I actually missed it and walked another 2 blocks. Apart from this little inadequacy in not putting up the sign in English, the rest of the hotel stay was a pleasant & refreshing experience....from getting to choose our pillows, the in-house onsen and the healthy but delicious breakfast included at no extra cost. The staff were helpful & friendly as well. They really tried to live up to its Super Hotel name.
Stayed in the room with loft bed. Room is very spacious compared to the normal twin room. Breakfast spread was good. Hotel is a bit far from train station but still walkable. Overall, it was a good stay.
USIt's definitely a discount hotel. I stayed in spring with my son. We wanted to see the cherry blossoms and the fish market. The location is very good. The fish market is a very short walk. The rooms are very very small, even by Japanese standards. The bed was 80% of the room I would estimate. The bathroom is tiny. I'm 5'4 and I found it tight. A 5'10" foreigner is going to find it very challenging. The staff are very nice and helpful. That's true of most of Japan however. :). It's a decent place to stay is you are Japanese sized and don't plan to spend any time in your room.
CNThis is my second time staying in Super Hotel Hakodate. Cheap room rate includes nice breakfast. Although breakfast is simple and not much food to choose, it's tasty and better than other chained business hotels. Hot spring is simple and only allows maximum 6 people, it's not really a problem because it's not so attractive. Walkable distance from JR station and major sightseeing points. There is a big drug and cosmetic store just opposite to the hotel. Two different convenient stores are nearby. Room is standard Japanese hotel room size without any expectation. It's clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and pillow fits its subject" healthy and good sleep at night". Recommended!
INJapanese hotels seem to be in competition to cut facilities and charge higher and this one is no exception . Hotel is not in walking distance unless you are willing to drag your luggage for nearly a kilometre from the station . You need to take tram and travel to the next stop ...to find the hotel which has no sign in english on top and you keep on asking people only to find Super Hotel written on glass with cars parked in front . Then the usual Japanese refusal to give room before 3 p.m. and you reach your room to get shock after paying US $ 250.00 a day this is just a cubicle where bathroom has been fitted three hangers on wall( no cup board ) just 2 tooth brush ( no toiletries) . Iron and iron board can be used only at reception not in room ! Thank fully staff understood and spoke passable english .
Need to walk about 10 mins from Hakodate JR Station. Simple breakfast spread. Room is small but clean. Staff cannot speak much English though. Location is close to other amenities. Walking distance to Hakodate Morning Market.
MYWalking distance to Hakodate JR station and located opposite to a convenient & drug store. A very memorable stay, affordable and will definitely visit other Super Hotel chains in my next visit to Japan.
