Saughall Mill Farm Cottage

I was very surprised with the welcome pack it was excellent. The cottage was very clean to my own standard it felt very welcoming. I will definitely recommend the cottage to my family and friends

We did make a comment in the guest book about the mattress and was surprised that if we had mentioned it to the owners that they would have purchased a new one. Which they have now done.

This is a beautiful cosy cottage, we absolutely loved our stay. The owners are very welcoming and friendly! The welcome basket was very thoughtful! We didn't want to leave and will definitely be staying again!!

Everything possible is provided in the kitchen, although it leaves little space for own items.

It was off-putting to see the host's underwear hanging up outside the cottage's front door. One is asked in the guidance to do a lot of the housework upon departure. Also, the garden area is not enclosed and it is asked that dogs remain on a lead at all times because of the host's dog. Small details but ones that make the host's presence strongly felt, rather than offering a comfortable retreat.

Lovely annexe to the owners property, set in a pretty, well-kept garden, with a welcoming basket of goodies to greet you inside. As beautiful inside as outside, you immediately feel at home. Five stars all round!

Jane and Rich are superlative hosts. Their warm welcome, well-constructed attentiveness was a wonderful bonus to their already generous greeting hamper filled with every essential as well as some very tasty luxuries. Wines, cheeses, crackers, butter, jams, bread, milk, tea, coffee... .the list is long. From the stunning, secluded grounds, ample parking, conveniently placed windmill, neighbouring nosy--flock of sheep and cheeky, cheerful pony, we could not have wished to have felt more immediately at home. Rick loaded the fire pit with logs, and we all sat in the evening sun, on the swing bench, and watched the daylight fade This cottage is stunning and decorated to the highest standard with love and care. The beautifully made bed with the freshest cotton sheets. Big, fluffy towels and hot water right on tap. The whole cottage has been designed to anticipate and cater to a guest's every need. Sumptuous sofas, massive tellies both up and down stairs. Fantastically equipped kitchen, larder and tons of games and great books to read. There's nothing that hasn't been anticipated - even Alexa, if you fancy a twirl around the kitchen. There are loads of lovely places to visit if you want to walk. Delightful pubs are not too far to stroll to and 12 minutes by car to Chester. My two friends and I are all hosts, and we agreed Saughall Farm Cottage was the best we'd ever had the pleasure of staying in. We could not recommend it more highly, and we were sorry to leave this blissful haven. Perfect for a romantic stay and ideal for four or more. We just loved it!

I honestly can't think of anything we could criticise. Nor would I want to.

Even though only 2 days, try and delay the leaving instructions? They arrived not long after we woke up on Day 1! Takes the sting out of being away a wee bit. :-)
