No kitchen amenities (oil, salt, kitchen towels) Terrible bright light all night at the terrace from hotel sign - ruins the atmosphere

This was a genuine Japanese experience staying there!! Very spacious! Two large bedrooms, a large livingroom and a large kitchen - dining area. Two sinks in dressing room and a large bathtub!! Floors, doors, and design of were authentic traditional Japanese. We liked the DVD selection and we watched Harry Potter the first night there, as we had visited Warner Brother's The Making of Harry Potter in Tokyo the day before. You could see Mt. Fugi just walking out the door!

Can't think of anything that I didn't like.

Outstanding and unique old Japanese house, just a pleasure being in it. Everything was clean, we had all the appliances we needed and could stock up on a second futon for more comfortable sleep. You even have a view of Mount Fuji from the terrace (though a little blocked by the fence) and a beautiful walk to the lake. Convenience stores are within 15 min walking distance, as is the lake (15-20). Make sure to check bus times from the other side of the lake at night (they stop running at around 8 pm, most of the stores and restaurants close rather early anyway though). The bathtub was a pleasure as well (though English descriptions might be helpful). It was the perfect stay and we're already considering coming back for a longer time.

It is next to a road. It's not bust at night, but if a big car drives past, you can definitely hear it. A neglectable nuisance considering the overall experience.

The apartment is nice but extremely cold and very dusty. The staff was non existent, in the sense that we've never seen nor heard from them. We asked if they could help us with something and they simply replied with a "no". Buses only come every hour and stop at 18pm. Very far away from everything. There was a sign in the bathroom saying that water had to be kept open all night to prevent freezing - this was obviously very annoying since there was no door between the room and the bathroom and we hear the water during the whole night.
