Classic Japan Living Kawamuraya

Authentic Japanese style, set in the mountains, and near a beautiful shrine.

Noisy due to location next to road. Could use some gardening around exterior.

The place is an old, traditional Japanese house. Place is beautiful and there more of this tape in neighborhood. There is everything what you need but in traditional setting.

This was the most amazing accommodation from our 2 week-long trip in Japan. We kind of expected from the photos what to find but only when you finally get there you realize that it is real. Really great experience from the moment you enter and leave your shoes "out", enjoy the tatami floor and sleep in the futons. The "tea room" was great, with a warming blanket where we enjoyed some tea and talked about our trip. The A/C units in every room made sure that temperature was good, regardless of the lower temperatures outside (we visited in March). We also cooked while we stayed there, and nothing was missing. The loving room with the TV had an awesome vibe/feeling that I can not describe in words, it just felt right. The parking right in front of the door was super convenient and eliminated any anxiety off parking issues. The property was also very close to main places that we went to - Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, Chureito Pagoda, Haha-no-Shirataki Waterfall (steep hike), and the unforgettable Fuji-Q (do yourself a favor and try Fujiyama)

The construction has to be "light" to stay true to its roots. With that being said, temperature isolation can be trickier. The installed A/Cs help a lot with that but also create additional noise. We were there in March and without the A/Cs on during the night, we woke up with some cold. With strong wind, the outside terrace cover also made considerable noise.

Overall vibe is very traditional Japanese. Clean and cozy.

The house is located on the main road, so headlight of the car might shine into the house.
