For a budget homestay, the cleanliness was actually impressive. The room, sheets, and bathroom were all kept nice and tidy. It’s not luxury, but it’s definitely more than decent—felt comfortable staying there for several nights.

Pendant mon séjour, j’ai adoré passer du temps près de la petite piscine et dans le jardin. Il y avait quelque chose d’incroyablement apaisant à simplement s’asseoir là, un verre à la main, sans rien faire, laissant la journée se dérouler lentement. L’atmosphère était détendue et légèrement rustique, donnant à l’endroit un charme authentique et accueillant. Je me suis surpris à y rester plus longtemps que prévu, à discuter avec d’autres voyageurs, à observer les mouvements délicats du jardin, ou simplement à profiter d’un moment de calme pour moi-même. C’était exactement le genre de pause dont j’avais besoin pour échapper au rythme habituel, un endroit où le temps semblait ralentir et où l’on pouvait vraiment se détendre.

This homestay has a really relaxed and easygoing vibe, which we absolutely loved. After a full day out exploring Cat Ba, it was the perfect place to come back to and properly unwind. Everything felt calm and quiet, making it easy to switch off and recharge. The room was simple but clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a good night’s rest. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was well looked after and felt cosy. The bed was comfortable, and the space had a nice, homely feel to it. We found ourselves genuinely looking forward to coming back each evening. For a budget stay, it really ticks all the boxes. It’s the kind of place where you can just relax and enjoy your time without any fuss.

The towels have recently been upgraded to better-quality cotton, and they’re much more absorbent, which is a nice touch. If you’re travelling on a budget, this place is a real gem. It’s not luxurious, but you still get clean rooms, a convenient location, and genuinely warm hospitality.

Breakfast was simple but tasty — nothing fancy, yet filling, with a few local dishes done really well. The host put a lot of care into preparing dinner, and it was always delicious. Considering the quality, the prices felt very reasonable. Even with rising fuel costs, the restaurant made an effort to keep things fair — I noticed a 10% discount for both lunch and dinner. The whole experience felt warm, personal, and thoughtfully managed.
