Lovely and clean

The Sandy Hill Guest House is perfectly located for visiting Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park. The room was a good enough size for me and my 13 year old son. The decor is modern but a little tired. The tea, coffee (plus coffee machine), welsh cakes, milk and bottle of wine laid out for us went above and beyond. My only criticism is that the other rooms were obviously occupied by a group and on our first night there was lots of chatting on the landing and moving between rooms, and on the second night they returned at 1.30am which set of the owners dog who then barked for about 15 mins. It would be great if each room could have a 'do not disturb' sign like in a hotel so you know other people are also staying. We would definitely return despite this because the location was so good.

Nice idea and concept but there is a lot of work to be done in the structure.

The building itself was in good shape, however the standards of the room was exceptionally low, spider webs in corners of the room, the carpet was quite dirty and seemed as if the floor boards had started to loosen, the walls were dirty in places and seemed like there were things stuck to it. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly either and again was very dirty in all corners. The price was ridiculous for the actual standard that we received.

Our hostess was excellent, she really looked after us and made us very welcome

The location was good. Breakfast was not an option but was provided with a fridge and good coffee machine. Bottle of wine and fresh milk.
