The experience was riddled with issues that no premium resort should overlook. I personally witnessed rodents entering one of your restaurants, staff members requesting “guest feedback” but never documenting it, and consistent communication breakdowns despite the resort having modern systems that could easily be used to inform guests.The food was tasteless, no honestly it sucked.

"Heaven on Earth"

This was my fifth trip to Finest Punta Cana (FPC) in four years. To me, it is heaven on earth. We are Diamond Members of Excellence Resorts and have vacationed at EPC (14 times), ERC(1 time), EOB (2 times), and EPM (3 times). Once you find a brand you love, there is no need to change. We have been to Dreams and many Secrets Resorts, but nothing compares to Excellence. Adults-only resorts have always been my preference, but once I went to FPC my mind was changed. The level of care, the staff, the rooms, the food, and the layout of the resort is exceptional. I took a girls’ trip with my friend from September 17 – 25, 2025. We took this same vacation in May, 2024. My husband and I have been to this resort three times. I am always greeted as soon as I get out of the Season’s Transfer by Rosaura, the Guest Services Manager. She is absolutely amazing and made sure our stay was just perfect. She reached out to me even before I arrived because I had asked her a question. So you can see her help is year round, not just the week I am there. Each day she contacted me to see if everything was good and where we would like to eat. Rosaura made sure we were always 100% satisfied. The Excellence Club beach is stunning with comfortable, padded loungers. The beach Concierge, Algenis, always remembers me and greets me with open arms. He genuinely seems happy to see me. This year he had a coworker, Edwin, who was just as fabulous as Algenis. Every day our cabana was ready for us when we arrived at the beach. We had the Beachfront Honeymoon Suite with private pool and when Algenis saw us sitting on our deck, he immediately grabbed towlels and came to put them on our chairs. He is always more attentive than any other resort Concierge at the other places I’ve been. He made sure we were well taken care of on the beach too. We never wanted for anything and Algenis and Edwin always took time to talk with us. One day my stomach was bothering me and Algenis told me what would help. I did what he said and within a half hour I felt amazing. Algenis and Edwin also taught us how to play Dominoes. We had so much fun and when it rained, it was a great pastime. We really had a lot of laughs. I cannot praise Algenis and Edwin enough. They go above and beyond to please their guests and represent the resort like no others. Yajaira gave me a fabulous beach massage and got rid of the knot in my shoulder. She is always friendly and goes out of her way to accommodate us. She also remembers us from our past visits. That is so important and makes me feel very special. We had some delicious meals there and never had to wait for a table. Even at dinner, we were given special treatment. Jorge, the Food Services Manager, checked on us and made sure we were happy. When we went to Dommo, we saw Wady from last year and he remembered everything about our breakfast at Dommo last year. He was in a few of the restaurants we went to and he did everything possible to make sure we were very happy. We met Oscar, the Chef, and he visited with us on different evenings. One night we were asked what we desired and when we said Surf and Turf – that’s what we got and in a private room at Gusto. Jorge came there to check on us too. We had Guillermo at Le Petit Plaisir and then again at Surf & Turf. He was so attentive and helpful in explaining the meals. Our drinks were never empty. His pleasant personality was such a joy. Also, at Dommo, or waiter was Alexander one evening and he couldn’t have done any more to assure our happiness. On or last evening, Oscar wanted to prepare a surprise special meal for us. What a surprise to have outstanding lamb chops and lobster tails. He also made a special dessert for us made up of all the best choices. Often we visited the Excellence Club bar so we could chat with Rony. He is so kind and always remembers our drinks. It was such a fabulous eight days and we were sad to leave. That is always such a difficult time. So many friendships have been made and we value all of them. The staff is one of the main reasons we want to return, but the accommodations are wonderful too. I keep in contact with Algenis and Rosaura during the year and it is such a nice connection to have. Although we live miles apart, knowing they are a text away is so comforting. On our last day it was raining very heavily. Until we had to leave, we played Dominoes with Algenis and Edwin. Right until the last minute, we were being treated special. We had Seasons Transfer again and I’ve used them all the time. Unfortunately, the driver we had this time was an awful driver, especially in the flooding rain. He drove so erratically and jerking the car all over the road, that I got car sick. I have never been car sick in my life. When I told him, he did give me a bag, which I used. It was such a horrible feeling. We usually have such professional drivers that it surprised me. Finest Punta Cana is a gem and I know I’ll return soon. I’m already looking at dates for 2026.

"Do NOT recommend!!!"

I got off the plane only to receive a phone call that my dad had passed away. At the concierge, she was so caring about the whole thing. I was told to email someone and see if they could give me a refund if I came home early. No one ever responded. I was shocked that the hotel didn’t do anything for me either for the grieving of my dad nor for our trip to celebrate our anniversary. They have a big ant problem in the room. The beds were just ok. They moved a bunch of the excellence to the main building because of renovations and said there’d be no kids. Uhhhh. wrong. The first night a bunch of kids ding dong ditched us. Other days we heard screaming kid, kids running up the halls and stairs etc. our room was near the buffet so I’m sure that didn’t help. The mini bar was never stocked. I had to call to get it restocked. Our plunge pool had dirt in it. The food was horrible except at Dommo. The spa was lovely, but the receptionist actually pushed me to give a bigger tip to the massage therapist (it was a good tip). We stayed at the Finest in Playa Mujeres and it was amazing!!!! So we were really excited to stay here in the DR. I’ll never go back.

"Negative Review - Finest Punta Cana"

We stayed at Finest in Mexico in 2023 and it was a flawless 10/10 experience. That trip set the bar high in terms of service, hygiene, and overall quality. This year (Sept 29–Oct 4, 2025), we decided to try Finest Punta Cana, traveling with our two young daughters (1.5 and 4 years old). Sadly, this turned out to be the worst resort experience we’ve ever had. Major Issues: Room bait-and-switch – We paid for a private pool room but were told at check-in that it wasn’t available. We were placed in a swim-up instead with the promise of moving the next day. The following day, we were given a completely different room, and staff claimed the building we originally booked was “under construction.” This wasn’t true, as we saw families using those very rooms. Constant construction noise – Loud drilling throughout our stay completely ruined the relaxing atmosphere we paid for. Housekeeping failures – Towels and robes were not restocked, our room phone didn’t work, and overall maintenance was poor. Terrible service – The concierge rarely answered, and when they did, we were placed on hold. Room service food took 1.5 hours to arrive, and overall service across the resort was painfully slow. Unhygienic pools – Several pools were not clean, which is unacceptable at a so-called 5-star property. Food quality – The food was absolutely horrible for a “luxury” resort. Bland, low-quality, and nowhere near what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Compared to Finest Mexico, the difference was shocking. Final Thoughts: We came here expecting a 5-star family-friendly experience under the Finest brand. Instead, we faced broken promises, poor hygiene, terrible food, slow service, and constant disruptions. With young children, we needed reliability and quality—this resort delivered neither. We will never return to Finest Punta Cana and strongly advise others to think twice before booking. If you’ve been to Finest Mexico, don’t expect anything close here—the difference is night and day.

"DO NOT COME HERE FALSE ADVERTISING"

Finest Punta Cana By The Excellence Collection Punta Cana DO NOT COME HERE 1033444777 Our group of 20+ guests visited Finest Punta Cana for a birthday celebration expecting a five-star, all-inclusive experience. Unfortunately, what we encountered was far from luxury. Arrival & Service: Check-in was disorganized, with no orientation or explanation of amenities. Staff communication was difficult, and food options were limited with no prior notice. Throughout the stay, bars and pool areas were frequently unstaffed, service was dismissive, and basic requests like towels were refused. Cleanliness & Rooms: Rooms were not cleaned despite service requests, and housekeeping often showed poor attitude and care. Several rooms were unsanitary, algae and bugs in private pools, broken fixtures, and poor maintenance across the property. Food & Dining: The food was consistently cold, repetitive, and unsafe at times, spoiled seafood and even a molded coconut that made a guest ill. Restaurants closed without notice, and dress codes were enforced inconsistently. Facilities & Management: Power outages occurred multiple times, and the pools and beach were poorly maintained. The birthday celebrant’s flowers were thrown away without consent, showing clear disrespect. Departure transport was also mishandled, nearly causing guests to miss flights. These issues reflect systemic management failures in service, cleanliness, and guest care. For a resort claiming five-star standards, this experience was unacceptable.
