The owner was incredibly helpful in organizing and taking us on a safari. He was very informative on the different animals and birds and provided us with an incredible experience. Upstairs room was very spacious which was appreciated and felt like being in a tree house which was really fun

The rock floor in the bathroom was a little dangerous

This is a wonderful little place. It was by far and away the best value of any room I think I have ever stayed in, in any country! The rooms are honestly presented on the booking sites and whilst not the height of luxury, they are very comfortable, spotlessly clean and utterly charming. The seating area outside each hut was perfect and we enjoyed chilling there for a few hours each evening before dinner. Each hut has its own bathroom with power shower, aircon and mini fridge, which for this price is an absolute steal. We stayed for two nights, many of the guests seem to stay one night in this area to do the Elephant safari and then head off but we were really pleased we had stayed for two nights. That gave us the opportunity to do a full day safari tour which I would highly recommend over the shorter half day tour. The full day allows you to get further into Yala national park and away from the scrums of vehicles which can build up nearer to the entrance of the park. As a result we had large parts of the day where we didn’t see any other vehicles or just one or two and it was very peaceful and quiet, increasing the chance of spotting animals. The fabulous owner of Private Organic House, Upul, was able to arrange the safari for us, with his cousin who turned out to be an incredible guide and must have had bionic eyes as he was able to spot animals and birds that we’d completely missed. It was a wonderful day out. Private Organic House is also conveniently situated in very close proximity to a number of restaurants, which we were able to walk to in about 5 minutes. However, if you get the opportunity to have dinner at Private Organic House you should definitely take advantage of doing so. We ate there one night and the food was amazing. Mrs Upul is a fabulous cook and Upul himself made a chicken dish which my husband still talks about now.

Beautiful location, everything is made out of wood and the host is super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and it is the perfect location for a safari in Udawalawe Nationalpark!

Upul was very welcoming, and went out of his way to cook us a delicious dinner, and helped us with our safari by lending us binoculars and a picnic breakfast. Aircon and mosquito net kept away the insects at night.

We had prebooked a different safari guide, but Upul would be an excellent choice. Very experienced with good English.

Wir hatten ein sehr großes Zimmer und Balkon, auf dem wir gut abends und zwischendurch Spiele spielen konnten. In der Nähe sind fußläufig auch einige Essensmöglichkeiten. Die über die Unterkunft gebuchte Safari war großartig. Ich habe natürlich kein Vergleich zu anderen Anbietern aber wir haben sehr viel gesehen, gelernt und hatten einfach ein tolles Erlebnis. Auch das rausfallen aus dem Zimmer direkt in den Jepp ist natürlich von Vorteil, als erst noch irgendwie eingesammelt zu werden.

Das Zimmer ist schon recht dunkel und mir persönlich hat der Boden im Badezimmer mit den Steinen nicht so zugesagt aber das ist natürlich Geschmackssache.

Bathroom not really clean Breakfast was minimal; dry bread, one egg and 2 pieces of fruit with a bad tasting rice sugar thing.

Wir waren eine Nacht da und haben mit Opul (dem Besitzer) eine 5-6 stündige Safari am nächsten Morgen unternommen. Die Unterkunft ist wirklich super schön und genau wie auf den Bildern - sauber, sicher, AC, super Bad! Abendessen gibt es sogar auch! Für die Safari hatten wir zwei echt preiswerte Optionen: 5h oder 8h. Beide starten morgens etwa um 5:30 (abends wäre aber auch gegangen falls man das lieber mag). Wir hätten uns keinen besseren Fahrer wünschen können! Er fährt super und hält immer wieder an und erklärt einem die Natur und die Tiere. Gesehen haben wir Elefanten, Wasserbüffel, Krokodile, Adler, Affen, Rehe, (…) und jede Menge Vögel. Sein Umgang mit den Tieren war sehr respektvoll. Etwa auf der Hälfte gibt es eine Pause mit super Frühstück. Wir können den Aufenthalt und die Safari wirklich jedem empfehlen und würden jederzeit wieder zu Opul!!

Adorei a estadia e a experiência. Localização excelente para uma experiência inesquecível ao parque Nacional Udawalawe, ao “elephant transit home” e à vila onde o alojamento está localizado! Habitação peculiar para quem está habituado a hotel, mas uma experiência que vale mesmo a pena, pela harmonia que se sente no local. Tem tudo o que é necessário para uma estadia confortável. Espaço muito bem cuidado. Povo de sorriso fácil e curiosos por quem passa! O dono do estabelecimento é muito simpático e prestável. Foi também ele que forneceu o serviço de visita ao parque nacional de Udawalawe. Recomendo! Na receção foi-nos oferecido bolo e um sumo de fruta delicioso. O pequeno almoço é muito bom! Optamos por jantar no local e fomos surpreendidos com pratos deliciosos! Parabéns Upul pelo projeto que desenvolveu, com tanto amor e carinho! Votos de muito sucesso!

Ruídos noturnos de pequenos animais. Nada que se possa fazer sobre o assunto. Somos nós que nos temos que adaptar à natureza!
