Villa Santa Mónica

This was just the most delightful place to stay. It's run with people that have hearts of gold. We had an amazing time. The courtyard is absolutely delightful. The peacocks are wonderful. The people are amazing. The food was great.

This is a beautiful setting, historic structure, rooms spacious

We got the only room that is not in the garden area of hotel. It is positioned on the outside, right next to the street, literally 5 feet away from busy loud street. Incredibly disappointing, they offered to move us next day but just too much trouble, if stayed longer would have moved, I am sure they move every person who gets stuck with this room. Busy loud traffic until about 11 at night, then starts early in the morning. Won't be able to sleep if you don't have earplugs. Do not let them put you in the Suite De Los Reyes. This suite not like any other on property. While these rooms are historic and beautiful beware that there is no AC and no heat and no FAN, rooms were hot when temp outside was beautiful. For price, basic amenities missing in rooms, no mini frig, no coffee pot, no iron. Room was not cleaned well each day, had to ask for fresh towels. Room was large and could have been wonderful if not on street and had fan to moderate temp and basics for a room this price. Pool was very dirty, not usable. Need to do some upgrades/updating.

The building is designed in the form of a Spanish 1700s era stucco hacienda with an inner courtyard which is very pleasing. The hotel room was spacious, however, there is no TV and the bathroom is small and needs fixture upgrades. There was only one handtowel provided for 2 people. The bedroom furnishings are old and quaint. There was only one chair in the room. The gas fireplace could be dangerous for a gas appliance inexperienced person when lighting the pilot light. The bathroom cabinet is old and the sink countertop space is limited. Wi-Fi was just OK. The landscaping around the property is quite pleasing and well maintained. One has to be careful walking on the walks, as there are places where there are unmarked steps. They have several budgies in cages distributed around the premises which is a nice touch.

It was beautifully designed and landscaped.

It had no heat or cooling other than a fireplace and a unit heater. It wasn’t that much of a problem except on cold morning is in February.

Excellent stay and friendly staff.

The nicest staff you will ever meet. Quaint property. Excellent food and beverage.
