We had a wonderful stay at Drumbeg Hotel. The owners are so nice and welcomed us when we arrived. We had a home cooked Scottish meal for dinner which was some of the best foods we've had anywhere in Scotland. Breakfast was also delicious with lots of options. The hotel has a great lounge and bar. We all slept very well in the comfortable beds. It was a charming and peaceful area. The road there is winding and narrow but it's part of the adventure and makes the stay feel even more memorable, as if you are going to a place frozen in time. We loved it and would stay again in a heartbeat.

"Fantastic hotel in Drumbeg"

10.0

Quite the road to get here but well worth it. Beautiful place. Lovely hotel with the nicest people. Great food and a fab little bar with a pool table. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had with Stornoway black pudding. We both loved this hotel. Highly recommended. Five stars.

We were there for a 2 night stay at the end of August. The hotel is very well taken care of & it is in a quiet lovely location. It’s beautiful inside too. Rooms are cozy, clean , quiet, & decorated very nicely. The food & service in dining room is amazing! The free breakfast is plentiful, delicious, & fresh. It is a nice touch.

"Restful stop for weary travellers"

10.0

We stayed for one night at the Drumbeg Hotel in early July, after a wild drive on the single track B869 in a pouring rain. Never so happy to see a hotel! The hotel is on the main road through the village of Drumbeg, on the shore of Loch Drumbeg. Our room was small, and cozy. We were in room 3, the one with the stag motif. The bed was very comfortable; shower was more than adequate; and we were able to watch BBC Alba on the in-room television. Despite the rain and 50 degree temperature (in July!) outside, we were warm and comfortable in our room. As we hadn't had supper, and there were obviously no restaurants or chippies in the village, we had supper at the Drumbeg. Richard and Fiona prepared a delicious salmon dinner, which we shared. The food was excellent. Great view from the dining room, as well, despite the weather. Richard told us that deer could often be seen outside the hotel, and sure enough, we saw a small herd of deer on the hill across the street. We enjoyed watching them for the better part of half an hour. Breakfast was wonderful! Fortunately, we were given a choice, as neither of us eats a lot in the morning. It was cooked to perfection. It was a good way to prepare us for the rest of the B869 to Lochinver, and the Wee Mad Road down to Loch Lurgainn. Here's what we liked best about the Drumbeg Hotel - the music! There was wonderful music playing in the dining room during both meals: Capercaille, Runrig, Dougie MacLean, Kate Rusby, and many others of our favorites. Top marks to Richard! We were very sad to see that since our visit, the Drumbeg Hotel is up for sale. Apparently Richard and Fiona are retiring from the hospitality trade. However, if you want to check out the interior of the hotel, and the surrounding area, the photographs are are on the estate agent's website. We wish Richard and Fiona all the best on their retirement. We had a really enjoyable stay, and we hope that the new owners keep the music!
