Beautiful hotel in a very nice location. We had a room with sea view which was fantastic. Delicious breakfast with both Asian and international options. We had dinner twice which was also very good. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

Service at dinner could be improved. While the main course was served quickly, we had to wait for an hour before someone came to our table to order dessert.

Stunning hotel, loved the balcony overlooking the sea.

Free mini bar was a let down. 1 can of Coke and 1 can of Sprite a day,no snacks, what the heck is that. Fridge didn’t keep drinks cold.

A lot of people working there that didn’t really know what was going on. Found hair in my food at dinner also.

Everything was perfect. The view from a room is worth staying in this hotel.

The hotel was amazing, the pool and facilities were really clean and absolutely stunning. The food in the restaurant was lovely, breakfast was great - a real varied spread. The staff were attentive and very friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom great and the balcony had a lovely sea view.

The whole stay was wonderful, but be prepared to pay more than local prices for food and drinks - still very good value for money though.

A relaxing stay after a last minute booking to move from another hotel on Cat Ba. We had two massages which were fantastic, the spa team were very helpful and lovely. Room had fantastic views out to sea. There's construction in the town but we couldn't hear a thing at the hotel! Only negative was our dinner in the restaurant on our first evening - expensive and not great. Breakfast though was delicious!

I felt very comfortable in this hotel. You can truly experience the old colonial style here, which made a great impression on me. I was particularly impressed by the restaurant, the terraces adjoining it, and the rooms. The hotel may not be brand new, but it still has its class and unique charm. There are pools around the hotel, which add to its beauty. We visited before the peak season, so it was very peaceful – no crowds, which allowed us to fully relax. I am very satisfied with my stay and believe that the price is excellent for such a high-class hotel. I would definitely love to come back!

Everything, staff were brilliant, helpful, food was great, nothing at all to be negative about.

Leaving it and having to come home

From start to finish the hotel and staff were exceptional. The staff helped with all our enquiries from arranging trips into the nearest town to assisting where we could get a scooter to go round the island in. They were friendly ,polite ,I can't praise them enough from the housekeepers , front of house to all the staff in the restaurant and the bar. The room was a delight, comfortable and spacious with a great view over the bay. The massages we had were great value and excellent. The heated pool was great as it was too cold to use the others.. weather wasn't wall to wall sunshine. The pool man switched on the sauna and steam room for us to use. I am a bit concerned for the staff as the hotel did seem rather quiet and hope its not closing. Just you can no longer advance book it. It would be a massive shame
