McLaren House Seahouses

Clean comfortable accomodation in a great location. The host was excellent responding straight away to my quiery.

Lovely large corner bath and plentiful supply of hot water

Very poor control of heating that was inadequate for the property. Very uncomfortable couches Uncomfortable beds Faults with facilities. Heater not working and faulty kitchen tap. Lack of instructions for oven which was complicated to understand operation. Very noisy due to doors left to bang shut in flats alongside.

Excellent location, everything as described...brilliant.

Didn't like that there was no key/lock for the main front door- came back to the apartment and there was a teenager standing in the front garden who had come out of the fire exit of the arcade- public had easy access to the communal area of the apartments as fire exit to arcade was often open

We had a Family get together for a 70th birthday so there was 20 of us plus 2 dogs split between 4 apartments for 3 nights, there was plenty of space in 1 apartment for us to all gather together in the evening for food and party games. Location is fantastic you are literally in the middle of everything supermarkets, gift shops, takeaways, resteraunts, fish & chip shop, cafes, ice cream parlours, pubs, game arcade, golf course which the lads of the group enjoyed one day, crazy golf, the harbour which is so pretty everything is right there on the doorstep it is absolutely stunning. We all spent a day on the beach to play beach games and the beach is lovely, you can even take the dogs on the beach, its literally a 2 minute drive to the start of the beach or probably a 20 minute walk at a guess. We enjoyed a sunset boat trip out to the islands & lighthouses to see the different birds and the seals and learn some history which was great fun and a few of the group had an evening drive out to the Holy island as you can only access it at certain times whilst the tide is out and they loved it, we also visited Bamburgh Castle which is amazing and the views from there are outstanding the beach is gorgeous. We were really lucky with the weather it was clear, sunny and fairly warm for the beginning of September so tht made it even better, we also had a full moon whilst there and I got some amazing pictures over the harbour. All in all we all had a really good time and none of us had a bad word to say about the accommodation or Seahouses itself we all loved it and thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10.

If you wanted to cook in the apartment only the basics were provided, so wasn't ideal. The oven was not set up for use (I ended up searching online for an instruction manual to get it working - no instructions provided in the information booklet). Wifi connection was slow, so trying to use the TV wasn't great. Wasn't connected to an aerial so no access to terrestrial channels Be aware that the directions for getting luggage into the apartment mean you have a long walk from the car park to the apartment, and it's not easy if you have to make multiple trips back & forth. When loading up at the end of the trip we worked out how to get a car behind the shops which probably wasn't right, but we left on a Monday so town wasn't particularly busy. One positive was the good communication we had with the owner, especially when we realised we'd left something behind, and we were able to get back in to retrieve it.
